Sl Babies... Think Before U Choose The Vendor

You want to experience the joy of motherhood in SL, and it gets all F'ed up because someone keeps making mistakes... over and over and OVER again???? Sad isn't it??? I encountered many problems, as I have heard many have trying to create a Second Life by adding children to the family.

My SL husband and I thought it would be a wonderful event to have babies. Something to make our relationship even more perfect, to enjoy children, yes i said children. We were expecting twins. At a whopping 3500L, which was nothing to us to be able to experience the joy in SL. Well... what we thought would be a joy... turned into a nightmare.

The "company" in SL is, well... how should I say... incompitant?? That seems like just ONE of the many terms that I could use to explain my thoughts and truths about this company. From Day one there were nothing but mistakes, and lack of communication on their end about the baby birth process. # 1 ... My Shape- I was asked to give them my shape so that they could mod it and give it back to me. I made my own shape, so I had no issue passing it over to them. They said they would have it to me w/i 24 hours. When the time came, no shape was passed. I even waited a little more, because I understood that there were many people out there wanting the same service that I was wanting. I eventually asked the female partner at this "company" about the status of my shape, since it was over 3 days late. She acted like she did not know what i was talking about. I had to resubmit my shape to them, A day had passed, when I finally got my shape... I was SO excited to begin this process. Once I put on the preggy shape, to my surprise... it wasnt me. I was about a foot shorter and looked NOTHING like me. I was livid. When msging the 2 partners (HS & MK) I got NO responses. Completely ignored. The male partner immediately logged off. Hmm.. I left a direct, but respectful offline about the mistake. Withing 24 hours I had my shape dropped into my inventory. The nightmare didnt stop there. It went on and on. Making the ultrasound appointment (where i even left work a little early to be there), Mr. MK was no where to be found. Was told by the female counterpart that "he would get to me when he had time". I was livid, once again. The next day, my hubby msged and msged. Wanting to know when we could get another appointment for the ultrasound. Finally, at HIS "convenience", Mr MK tped us to his office.

I wont go into the other "lack of follow-through" into TOO much detail. But it goes on and on, and STILL is going on! When we received the babies with the wrong clothes on that we requested on the notecards initially when we made our order. RUDE, AND DISRESPECTFUL TO THEIR CLIENTS.. is what I can say to sum up the issues. They have their money... so what do they care right?? You are needing THEIR services!

In a nutshell, these people are in a market on SL where they have a great product and they know it. They do have cute babies. However, they treat their clients poorly, and do not make the experience at all what it should be. By the time you are through, you have a headache, and left with an awful experience. I will NEVER EVER refer anyone to this company. If I could, I would boycot their whole company and send them into a slum without a "diaper to piss in" (parden the joke). But that is what these blogs are for right? To pass the word on so others dont experience the nightmare that others had to? If you want to enjoy raising a family in SL, do not go through these people. You will really regret it. I dont regret the children added, but I regret the experience and who we went through. This issue seems to keep coming up repeatedly - perhaps what has been discussed there can give you some assistance.

Better still, this certainly sounds like a market loaded with - as the economists call it - pent-up demand.

Recommendation to all those who ask "how do I make money in SL?" Here is a need, fill it well and the L$ will beat a path to your door.

Yes, it is an obvious outcome of the sexball epidemic in SL.

Yes it does come up repeatedly, and out of respect of the game (not to mention TOS) I wont say names. However, I am sure that most of you know of whom I am speaking of. I have encountered MANY people in SL that have had this issue with this particular "company" on SL. You would think that something would have been done by now, but unfortunately nothing. Best I can do is make sure that the people out there know of what is happening, and choose another person to come through. For some people, the closest that they will ever come to having children, is in this game. Sad, but true. It should be a joyous occassion, and for most, its nothing short of a aggrivating experience. This game IS a second life for many, where they can experience certain things digitally, but yet still have the same emotions that they would outside the game, RL as people say. And once again, this is just one more of the events that has been ruined by a non sympathetic or empathetic "salesman", who knows nothing about a "good customer experience". I suggest he learns, because some day... the need for him will be non existant, and someone else will reep the benefits. Someone who knows the importance.

It is amazing to me how this person still has a business. I think yours is about the tenth thread I have seen on the same topic, and I have heard from countless people in SL about the same issue, as well as from friends who experienced the same problems you have. Introvert is right, someone needs to pick up the slack. Enabran, we need to make prim babies.

Are the babies always scripted objects or are there services have a tiny avatar playing the role of a baby?

I think this must be different from those babies which are avatars. I had a customer last week who was with a friend who was actually a BABY. And the baby looked more real in the face than we do. The baby talked and everything - it was a person with a baby avatar.

A person in a baby avatar could get a job being a baby, with a series of avatars to represent growth.

The baby avatar would type "Wahhh Wahhh" and play crying sounds, put on frowning animations when it needs to be fed, etc.

Later it could use sitting up animations, rolling over animations, learning to stand animations, etc. Its chat could advance through babytalk to MaMa when seeing the mother and increase in articulateness and vocabulary use. Unlike a scripted object it could actually act like a child, eventually complaining the its sibling got more ice cream than it did, and someday just asking to borrow the car keys and have some gas and food money, then not coming home till the next day in the afternoon.

Then people would start asking for their money back.

The one you saw, Cocoa, was most likely one of DarkDharma Daquerre's Little Tyke Babies. Adorable baby avs you wear with a supplied animation overrider. They have sounds and come with a little rattle and diaper.
