SL has always been way over my head but I have somehow survived without one bit of computer knowledge. Surviving the "humerous quips" in the forums is another matter entirely though.

Just wait until you meet up with the #1 addiction in SL ... shopping.

I'm not a shopaholic, but a scriptaholic. So the script-edit bug, just confirmed, is really giving me withdrawal symptoms.

Well, I guess I'm just overwhelmed and not giving it enough time...I've already screwed up my Avie...she looks HORRIBLE lol....and I can't change her face back. I click on something in my inventory last night that someone was kind enough to give me, not realizing I'd be stuck with freckles and just not looking like I want lol...I already don't know where to turn to fix it. Just typical newbie stuff I guess.

Tatiana if you IM me in world ill help you as much as i can...we are all new at one time or another....and we never stop learning....Ive got some clothes n stuff you might like too it will be fun..

you know...it gives you hope for the future of avatarkind when not only are a bunch of folks so forthcoming about helping out a new soul, but the soul in question so enthusiastically and graciously says "thanks."

Aldo, you're right but a lot of it had to do with Tatiana's disarming verve and cheerful attitude, her sense of humor and her politeness. It's a two way street!

I know it's late in the thread but I guess I just have to post this:

".. at the time when you spoke of my becoming a painter, I thought it very impractical and would not hear of it. What made me stop doubtign was reading a clear book on perspective, Cassange's Guide to the ABC of Drawing: and a week later I drew the interior of a kitchen with stove, chair, table and window - in their places and on their legs - whereas before it had seemed to me that getting depth and the right perspective into a drawing was witchcraft or pure chance."

Yes, she obviously is a charming lass in a lot of ways and that certainly inclines members of the community to extend the helping hand/paw/tentacle/stream-of-positively-charged-glittery particles.

But I was also impressed that she clearly understood and valued the time and effort that folks extended to her, and that indicates she has a good sense of manners and an appreciation for others.

By golly, we spend far too much time commenting on the rude-and-irritating demographic. I think its important to give credit where it's due, and yes, the credit is deserved by the drivers goin in both directions on this particular two-way street. Plus it sure seems like everybody invovled just had a helluva good time...kinda endearing actually.
