Ok, I'm trying to do some RL related work (its wrong to call it that when you enjoy it ). Anyway, I'm wondering about Kitchens and Bathrooms in SL, while I have no intrest in creating either really, I got the wondering if theres demand for it. Although we don't sleep in SL, SL bedrooms have their, uhh, functions. We don't eat, but a dining table can be used to sit and talk with friends. So, here comes a poll (I hope).

There's nothing like coming home after a long day of picking prims on the farm to a nice comfy toilet to relieve my avself into.
Can someone make a prim bidet please? I tried to make prim tp but it just injures me when I try to use it.

None for me, thanks -- I do enough cooking and cleaning in RL.
Based on my non-scientific observations, tho... it's my fella friends who like having these rooms in their homes. The gals I hang with are in my camp (we phone for take out and use the facilities at the club down the street).

There's very obviously a market for it. People make a killing selling not only homes with those provisions, but the pieces themselves.
Want to get rich? Make a fully-stocked kitchen set.
I'm stubborn, so far none of my prefabs have any real kitchen/bathroom areas. Some have bedrooms and studies, as they make much more sense than a place for your av to shit.

Lol not quite, but I was intrested to see, as I am in most of my polls, who picks what. In this one I just thought, "no one'll care who knows whether they want a bathroom/kitchen or not". Aparently I was wrong

Intresting, while I do mainly build for myself, I do *try* to build what people want.. If I get rich in the process, *sigh*, I guess I'll just have to put up with it

Pie and cheese!
One could argue that a shower has as many uses as a bed in SL, but I'm still reluctant to say I'd want one. I just don't go through those paces on SL. Besides, if I wanted some place to shower with a significant other, I'd make a majestic waterfall with chirping birds and wavy grass.
Kitchens however.... Perhaps not fully stocked ones, but a fridge and a table most certainly. A guy's gotta have his beer and leftovers. >3

I just can't see wasting prims on a kitchen when all it will do is look purty... same goes for a bathroom...

My rl residence is not what I wish it were, so I fulfill my desire for a nice home by having one in SL. That includes having a kitchen and a bathroom. Do they serve any purpose? Nope, and I'm fine with that.

My home has a cooking fire on the ground, but not a kitchen. Hard to put one in a nest! The area around the cooking fire is a social gathering spot on our land parcel...
Nope, no bathrooms. That is what bushes and the lake are for! (LoL) Lake for bathing, and bushes... well...

I would have a bathroom, purely because baths, showers and tubs have, uh, social uses

I have a late Edo-period home, and it was designed with a kitchen, which is a social area of the house. It has a wood burning tile stove, complete with woks and steamers on the stove for use.
The house has a large bathing spa, but no bathrooms... Didn't want to waste the prims on that.

Some place that just looks pretty = bad. But then I'm happy with just sitting, period, so I'm almost tempted to strip my apartment bare and sleep on the floor. >D

I had to deal with this, when making homes.
Only one real solution that I could come to. I made the kitchens and bathrooms in my more recent stuff rezzable / de-rezzable. Saves a lot of debate; frees up a lot of prims when you ain't cooking, puts em all back perfectly in place in less than a second when you feel like looking at them again. To be honest, I'm kind of wondering why so few (nobody else?) does the same thing.
