But not really a lot of the other species. I mean, I almost rarely seen gorilla/ape furries. They were just limited edition a while back. We've also made a manatee. That was tough. Nighteyes Fitzcarraldo (last name spelling probably wrong) -- has made stuff like giraffes. The reason we don't stick stuff like, say, manatees, in the vendors - is because generally only one or two people want them. Cows, however, strangely enough, probably are somewhat in demand.... Not many bears, either. |

My second day in SL I "discovered" furries so I immediately rushed off to Yadni's to get a furry avatar. Having secured a TON-O-STUFF I teleported back to my usual hangout only to have someone ask me "What the heck are you supposed to be". I backed my camera back and could understand what he was talking about. It seems there is an option (that is on by default) to immediately wear new stuff you buy. I looked like a cross between Humpty Dumpty, a teen aged mutant ninja turtle, a bag lady and something the dog dragged in. I was green, orange and purple with ill matched clothes in a rainbow of colors. I had horns and a tail and somehow only one feline ear. It took me nearly 15 minutes to get back to my "real" SL form. Anyone else think the default for that "wear now" should be off?
The avatar I am looking for now is a lobster. Anyone making those?

Tess, you've probably figured this out by now, but it's really handy to have a default avatar folder.
Just get yourself to a look you like well enough, go into change appearance mode, and click "save outift" (or whatever the button is called) then check all the checkboxes - skin, hair, clothes etc. - and name the folder "default outfit" or something. Then all you have to do is drag that folder onto yourself if your appearance gets messed up.

Tess Yes. But. Be warned that if any of those outfits contain say, a skirt that is no-copy, it will be moved from the folder it is in, to the "schoolgirl" folder or whatever. (yes, I know I'm always bitching about this.) Make Sure You Leave "Rename Items" Unchecked! I'd like to thank Jamma for the Chicken avie, I love it, heh.  |

Yea lol i remember when i was new at yadni's and did that. I kept forgetting to uncheck the wear now box when i bought something. I wish it could be off by default. I never really wish to wear something as soon as i buy it. ;p

Hey! Skunks don't reek all the time. In fact, they don't like the smell any more than any other creature does. Just like bees don't always sting, it's only for defense. Why not werecows or werechickens? Those are a heckuva lot more common! *cranks up the old tune he heard on Dr Demento, "I'm a Werecow"* I suppose it boils down to how furries are influenced by their environment just like everybody else. Which is why when someone tells me "I am really a wolf in a human body" I tend to roll my eyes. Why don't we hear about marmosets trapped in human bodies? Some people say I was strange for making a robot HORSE, even though I would imagine in a world where using robots as labor is fairly common that equine be a logical choice. I mean, if your world was Megaman X-ish in that designers liked to dress up their robots to look like animals. Didn't Rod Gallowglass have a robot horse?

Tess You can get a similar effect if you keep all your avs in the same folder. Just drag the whole folder onto your av.

It's not an amoeba, but I have been blipping around as a giant floating squid in the game for the last few days. Been so much fun, I'm thinking of a jellyfish next. And it's gotten 1000% more attention than my human av, my were-weasel av or my toon skunk av. Include kinda freaky flirting from some ladies o,o

As to Furries, I am a part time Furry, and have both full size & tiny Siamese Cat AV's. My GF LOOOVES to scritch me when I wear my Tiny Cat AV.
