No I wasn't so much 'kicked out' as 'shut out.' Basically, out of the blue, one of the critters stopped dancing and started chanting "No slaves! No slaves!" and everyone else in the room did a "/me agrees with so-and-so."

I tried to reason with them, but I'm not one to overstay my welcome, either. No biggie though, really. Everything stayed in character on both sides, which is the most important thing to me. I made some mistakes and learned from them, and now I'm going back to set things straight, the only way that I know how...

/me dramatically trots off toward the horizon, awaiting nightfall...

I apologize on behalf of the Rainbow Tiger Club and its owners and staff. I certainly would not have allowed such behavior to continue if I was around; Intolerance disturbs me, on any level.

In fact, I think a human being living in a virtual world dressed up as animal calling down wraith upon someone who is a slave to be the height of hypocrisy. :P And pathethic, too.

There's a lot people do that I don't agree with myself on SL, but I do not make it my goal to set out and ruin the fun for them, individually or as a group.

If I catch any furries at the club doing anything like this when I'm around, they'll find out pretty quick that fur and napalm do not mix. ^_^

Oh, and the owner has been notified, too, concerning this.

Hi Wildefire! My mate Spike Nico runs the Rainbow Tiger Club and I run the mall, casino, and apartments. I want to extend my personal apologies for the way you were treated. My mate and I try very hard to make the island a safe haven for ALL to visit, regardless of species, sex, preferences, etc. Sadly, there are always a few who cannot be anything other than closed minded, and you apparently ran into some of them without any of management there to respond. I assure you we have banned both furries and non furries for this type of behavior, and take this very seriously. If you have names of the furries you had the issue with, I would love to discuss this with you in game.

That's very kind, and I honestly appreciate it. Please understand that while Wildefire the character was uncomfortable with how things turned out, I the player just found the whole thing amusing. No hard feelings... that's why I'm sending her back there.

No, no... not necessary. I don't remember any names (although I DO have screenshots), however I'm really not miffed about it. I can see though how you might be concerned, because if it had been someone other than me, that player might have taken things more personally. If, when Wildefire returns, she continues to encounter any behavior that might be undesirable in that regard she'll let you know. And offer a pony ride... don't be offended though, she's just like that.

Rhubardin Fluffball's list twelve of things to do late at night V0.000000001

1:Go vampire hunting: My favorite late night activity. Hit a vamp gathering and watch them totally ignore you as they do 'stuff' with barely a word. Bring a friend as bait and watch hilarity ensue when he tries to engage them in open conversation. Bonus points if you can convince one to play their role well enough to the point you can blast them without being a jackass.

2:Go Gorean Hunting: I do not reccomend this as it involves going to a Gorean sim and they don't much care for flamethrower wielding mech piloting rabbits for some reason. Or at least that is what I gleaned from the rules notecard I got upon zoning in. Since I am unfortunately cursed with a set of morals, and a desire to remain furry, I have yet to venture into one. Shame since I rather like some of the architecture.

3:Tentacle Monster hunting: Yes there is one out there and it's in a furry sim. But if I told you It wouldn't be a hunt now would it?

4:Vist Rausch during a convention of shield weenies: After being teleported home every thirty second you'll have plenty to do picking up the pieces of something you smashed in frustration.

4:Furry hunting: Find a cuddly fur, like me, pounce them and give them a big hug. I would reccomend NOT doing this to me while I'm vampire hunting though.

5:Build something: Sure it's not as much fun as cybering but it actually can be entertaining even if you're not very good at it. My personal airship, the R.C.S Mega Craptastical, was designed over the course of several insomnia ridden evenings.

6:Fly around in your own custom built airship and play pirate: That first time you call someone a buckyball is to die for.

7:Go shopping: Weapons, mechs, and furry AVs are my usual targets. Though dragons and acessories for them are catching up

8:Replace all the blood in every fountain and cauldron in Transylvania with Kool-Aid

9:

10:Find a Kool-Aid man Avatar for when you're around vampires with a sense of humor...hell juts find me a Kool-Aid man AV I promise not to do anything to weird with it.

11:Catch up on that obnoxious sleep thing everyone requires for some reason.

12:Find me in game and bug me about my view on Goreans and vampires.

WARNING:DO not make a nuiscance of yourself if engaging in these activities. Don't go shooting up Transylvania with a push gun asking where the Trenchcoats and Katanas are sold for example.

So THAT'S what I was doing wrong! I wondered why they were yelling at me to leave. You seem to have missed number 9.

Also a word of warning(?) about furry hunting: Most furries like pouncing or being pounced, but it can escalate to weird and wild things at times. Pounce at your own discretion. >D

Actually the section labeled nine is meant to stay secret. Operating from the shadows until required to surprise the enemies of my new order.

This girl is often on between 11pm-2am PST and she's been having trouble finding any 'mature' sims populated with anyone who's actually awake. All the "trafficked" ones just have a bunch of zombies sitting in chairs collecting money (or in one case I discovered last night, doing unwholesome things to stuffed animals). These folks never respond when I kick, scratch, or whip them, so I guess they're either really busy or really jaded.

I've also found a number of clubs that have more active people, I guess, but the primary activities there seem to be dancing in circles and saying "VvVHowlzzzVvV" or some variant- which is fine I guess, but I don't see where the "mature" fits in.

Last night I even slipped on a pony costume and sneaked into a furry bar, but they caught me out right away and never let poor Wildefire join in any reindeer games. We did do some pretty cool synchronized dancing though, until I got kicked out for trying to offer free pony rides. Summa those fuzzy li'l guys can jump!

So, I ask- nay, I beseech you... where in Second Life does a girl go when all her friends are offline and she desires some... entertainment? Recommendations? Solicitations? Biohazard warnings?

you can hang with me in SL i am on at those times and on 24 hours on sataurdays o:),
I do have a small sandbox that i may change into house, but for now it will be a party place/sandbox for now o:).. If you want to be with me Just IM me in SL ^.^

I can't understand people saying "VvVHowlzzzVvV" it Just makes no sense but anyway

To those who educated me on furry culture and who were concerned about a minor conflict I had with some furries earlier this week, I believe we can consider the matter successfully resolved. I returned to the club in question and had a much better time, armed with new understanding, appreciation, and of course a new body.

Also, Ethen? Be careful what you wish for, hun. Muhahahahaaaaa!

Edit: I fixed my link...

I am very glad to hear that, Wildefire. I don't tend to be out in the clubs late at night myself, but if I had been there, I would have welcomed you. In fur, or not. It would be interesting talking to you some time, if we ever managed to be on line at the same time. Unlikely we will meet in-world though, as I'm rarely on when you are.

Hmmm, maybe werewolves do, but I was under the impression that vampires were more into fiendish laughter.

My Head aches!?

Ive read thru all these posts with the exception of the 10 best things to do in SL which made me smile. the rest were way over the top of my VERY British head.

I kinda 'get' the dom and sub thing...go as far as to say I prolly prefer to be a Sub cuz in RL im such a mouthy bitch...and if a man shows weakness I get bored...I like a challenge so I guess the fantasy is a man who I look upto and who 'dominates me' but this is all hypothetical as 'No sex!! I'm British' :)

But the furry??? OMG wtf is THAT all about?

Seriously...I look at my Bassett Hounds and shudder...now Im not so stupid to think ppl go about shagging RL animals ( but it DOES happen ) so is this where this fetish springs from? Beastiality?

I accept I am rather shallow minded where sex and fantasy comes in...but I dont understand the whole dressing up as a dog and shagging another dog...can anyone break this down into digestable bite size pieces for me?

:)

TY

stuff

I can't help you, but it is RP and usually nothing more. So let your imagination go and then try to explain that crap to somebody. Now do that and act it out in a virtual world and try to explain it to someone.

No.

Furry is not a sexual fetish, any more than, say... being a trekkie or a gamer is. It just so happens that a lot of furries are very sexual people (UNLIKE being a Trekkie or a gamer... I kid, I kid, I'm both of those as well).

Now, to every rule there is an exception, of course, and we have ours... But they don't have much better a reputation in the furry community at large than in the rest of the world, nor are they by any estimation anything more than a very small minority.

Poor girl,
yes, there is a gap betwen Euro players and US players... either you fit in one of those, or you are left out. So who are you, Euro or US?

I am sorry to say I dont have a solution for you, and neither I think that there exists a pre-made one. Get to know people who are online at the same time, and you will find a way to have fun with them no matter what you expect to do.

I am in the US, West Coast, and my Friends list is indeed growing a little day by day. At this point the list is pretty evenly divided between US and European players (with a heavy concentration in Austria and Germany, which is similar to my previous gaming experiences).

This same scenario plays over and over: I'm bored, so I plug some interesting keywords in the Places search, and teleport to a sim I've never been to. Typically I'll find the place either empty entirely or populated by AFK campers. But every once in a while there'll be one other guy or girl wandering around looking for trouble just like I am. The friends cards get transferred just after "oh look, another person!" and right before the cooperative search for animation balls.
