I Told You So

Well, I said I would, if it came to it. :p

You were absolutely right. They broke off negotiations and took over the forum. It was quite the spectacle.

However, I think you'll be pleased to know, that despite all this, I just made them another offer to try and resolve this amicably. I offered to exchange my claim for unpaid work for the undisputed rights to the name "Neualtenburg." Given that they'll never pay me anyway and we will use the N'burg name regardless, I thought it would be a great way to formalize the inevitable situation while providing a way for us to move on.

I hope there's someone over there with the good sense to seize this opportunity.

I tried very hard to seek an amicable solution to our difficulties, suggesting third-party mediation. Here's my most recent attempt to seek resolution.

Ulrika, I don't really think that being granted "your work uncompensated" is a bargain to them. You already admitted that you removed anything of yours that you can find; anything other than that, good luck proving that they owe you anything for your work, unless you have a contract agreement in some form.

Also, I don't think that any agreement which leaves anything of yours intact in their sim would be considered agreeable at all, and I saw someone going around scanning for objects owned by you in order to remove them.

Really, at this point what are you owed by them? They're apparently changing their name to avoid infringing upon your copyrights (nevermind that the copyright was registered by you, to you, when it properly should have been registered to the larger group). Any objects of yours in there have been deleted, either by you or by them (or seemingly will soon be deleted). If they're not using your objects, if you have no specified contract for prior work, what leverage do you have legally? Are you seeking to settle in lieu of damages?
