Proposal for an Air-Ship/Flying community

I was allowed the honor of joining the Kazenojin project on Friday. For Kazenojin Station, I will build a very futuristic airship, which will have some interesting features:
  1. An instrumented bridge and an engineering room, with detailed power generation equipment
  2. Vectored ion impulse thrusters for keeping the ship aloft, and moving it horizontally, if that is ever necessary
  3. A sensor array, capable of detecting objects in the area
  4. A network transponder for communicating with devices, both inside Kazenojin Station and aboard other ships - there are many potential uses for this; Spanning Tree Algorithm, anyone?
  5. Particle cannon with automatic fire control for providing "constructive feedback" to rambunctious aircraft in the vicinity
  6. Aircraft carrier-style steam catapult for launching aircraft, fruit baskets, cauldrons full of boiling oil, "Bob" paraphernalia, mahogany tables, and avatars overboard and down into the surrounding communities
  7. A large common area with clamshell doors that can be retracted for that "open air" feel - can be used as a shuttle bay, meeting hall, party place, whatever
  8. Huns Labs, a nice lab where my guests and I can build groovy stuff
  9. Staterooms and offices, maybe


I am guessing that Kazenojin Station will probably feature some kind of shipyards. If so, my airship will be built there. If not, I will construct some sort of "dry dock", possibly hovering in the air.

I know that I had mentioned before that there were going to be plans and pictures on the group forum, well I lied. Well, not lying exactly, after working on our model I decided that it would be easier and more expressive if our designs were available in game. So if you haven't seen our model go check it out on Goodwill's pad in the sky.

Dude Huns that is awsome. I cant wait to walk around inside your airship. I realy like the size that it sounds like it will be, like a Star-Trek ship. From a bridge to a Lounge. Oh and you just cant forget the catapolt. I mean what would a large flying aircraft be without a catapolt...

Is you gun on you ship gunna be like the ones from the melenium falcon? Can you sit in the gun turrets and rotate around firing vollies of higly charged plasma particals at light speeds at delinquent aircratf. Yah! sounds awsome man.

As far as a dry dock. We did design one for smaller aircraft but not one for the size of what you are planning to build.. but what would our Kazenojin be without a massive drydock..

Has anyone seen Tailspin? The disney cartoon from a long time ago.. like 10 mabey 15 years ago? Ya well anyway.. in that show there used to be a floating refueling station. I see this as a good start for a basic idea for our drydock for massive ships! I will get to the drawing pad right away so you can get a better visual for those of you who have no idea what Im talkin bout.

I made a logo this morning for the station. A copy is on display at Goodwill Epoch's (Hawthorne 66,231). So far myself and Realtime Rogers like it, but several others said it was too difficult to read. I can re-do the sign in a different, more readable font, if anyone has suggestions. I will attach a copy here...

Well, I thought it would be a good idea to get in here an let you guys know what is going on.
We have had several new members join up in the past 3 days, all of which seem to be realy inthused about what we as group are going to accomplish.
Several people have privately IM'ed me about ideas they were working on and askin how it could be implimented into our group. A few of these ideas can be seen up at Goodwills place in the sky... (IM me in world for a Landmark). I want to incourage all of you that have ideas but are kinda shy to bust those ideas out your brains and get them into SL. Show em off at Goodwill's and the group can kinda "vote" on what they think of it to see if it is something that we should take on as offical Kazenojin.

Also today should be the day we find out who gets a chance to jump the new land. Cross your fingers guys.
