Strife, when you ask about additional attachment points would you mind asking about the possibiity of something a little like the "generalized texture layers" proposal, that is, the ability to attach multiple objects to the same attachment point? I've seen that asked for a few times but never seen an answer.

Will ask, no technical reason why it can't be done that i know of; all depends how the sims actualy diseminate that information to the clients.

I'd like to see attachment points on the fingers and such.
More "Small"ish features... Torley's IM improvements: /142/eb/61632/1.html As well as general Chat improvements: - Clickable URLs in chat history (and anywhere else in the UI) - Automatic chat logging - Optional Timestamps. - Colorised options, or, symbols infront of names (@ for example) to show things such as speakers or important people (perhaps done through About Land, with a list to add names and choose a color for that name to be displayed in). I.e. to help at Town Halls or other meetings to keep track of whose speaking. Or perhaps something in Preferences as well so you can set your own colors for other people. - Menu when right clicking a name in chat. _____________________

My understanding is that Andrew is the physics guru, so I'm going to ask questions about physics functions: inertia, friction, bouyancy, that sinking feeling and techniques we can use to counter act it.
I'd like to discuss limits on llRez and physics, and how we can fire objects without getting pushback effectively. I am also interested in granularity with collision detection. How precise can we expect, what changes the precision, and what can we do to optimize it. Also, synchronizing physics between the client and server would be interesting as well. Basically, lots of physics questions ![]() _____________________

Andrew may be busy during the logothon and might not be available until afterwards.
So, if it's not cleared up on this thread by then, expect an IM from me during the logothon as to when/where exactly this will be held. Right now I expect it to be sometime between 3-5 pm on Sunday (tomorrow), assuming the logothon doesn't melt down and we lose Andrew. Apologies for the late notice. _____________________

The logathon, which is at 3-4 SLT this Sunday, is a good time for me, so lets do it then.
I don't have an agenda, so any question about SL to which I know the answer is fair game, however technical matters and the roadmap of technical design would be some of the things I know the most about. That is, the first four bullets in Strife's outline are things that I can easily talk about. Huns is correct, I haven't been involved in any of the economy design so on that subject my expertise would probably be less than that of the audience. Nevertheless, you're welcome to tell me what will happen to the economy when the ratings bonus is changed. I think Iron Perth should form an outline of stuff I should talk about in order of preference, collected from the suggestions in this thread, and present it to me anytime before the talk and I'll cover as much as I can in the time alloted (at least 1 hour, more if possible), then we can open it up to questions for another 20 or 30 minutes. |

I IM'd Andrew and he has graciously agreed to experiment with a more roundtable format. Everyone will get 5 minutes to ask and discuss their particular question with him.
I have sent a notecard with an invitation to everyone who posted on this thread. Please let me know if you didn't get one. Please IM your questions to Iron Perth (me) before the meeting tomorrow so we can give a heads up to Andrew. I will collate and send them on to Andrew before the meeting. Time and particulars are in the notecard I sent out to everyone. Please note that seating is limited, so you can bring a friend, but seating will be prioritized to those with invitations. After the meeting, please donate 1000 L$ to Katrina by purchasing a Hurricane Relief Efforts T-Shirt form slboutique.com at: http://www.slboutique.com/index.php?&p=buy&itemid=17616 Please IM me after purchasing to let me know you've made the donation. After the discussion, I will be posting a full transcript both here and in the general forums to ensure that all information is available publically. _____________________
