Please post any questions about using MLPV2 or report suspected bugs here. MLPV2 is available full-perms for L$1 at XStreetSL: http://xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=692115Pople are free to stock this at freebie warehouses for access ingame. Innula Sovkena put one in the Builders' Resource Centre at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Freedonia/27/223/700. It may not be the latest version; best to check on XstreetSL first.

MLPV2 and rezzing objects
07-20-2008 08:47
Hi--I'm wondering if there is anyone who has been able to make the MLPV2 rez objects along with the poses. Specifically, I'd like to have certain things appear in certain places during a pose, then disappear when the next pose is selected.
Any hints on how I'd do this?
I'm very happy to have found this MLP version!

"Props" will be supported in MLPV2.1, which is in beta test. If you'd like to be a guinea pig, join the MPLV2 group in my profile and take the object in the latest notice. Find out more about this feature here: /147/f7/269545/1.html#post2077913Innula, thanks for making it available ingame. /me waves to lovely Zolen.

Selling a copy requires original to restart
08-02-2008 08:59
Hi Lear, am loving the new functionality of MLP 2. But having a problem with selling furniture using the script. When a customer clicks on furniture and buys a copy, the original thinks its being sold and requires a restart. Problem is, that furniture sits in the store with no pose balls until its clicked, but with a fully packed group of animations in the furniture that takes a long time, meanwhile customer thinks its not working and walks away.
Seems like the issue lies in the new ownership code you put into the run script. Any thoughts?
Update: Ok now have the new mlp version 2.1 and it works fine. thanks

Can I change the poseball offsets?
08-09-2008 04:32
Hi-I'm wondering if there is a way to change the offset of the poseballs for my MLPV2 product. My issue is that when the positions are placed properly the blue ball is hidden in the chair. How can I nudge the balls up a bit without moving my positions?

Poseballs occasionally disappear while sat upon
08-09-2008 04:38
I just started having thing problem a day or two ago. I was hoping it was just lag or a fluke, but now it has happened at a friend's place as well.
When using the MLP, occasionally--like two or three times in a day--the balls suddenly disappear and the avatars are left posed in the last position. This doesn't seem to correspond with clicking any particular button, but maybe I'm missing something. Once, I swear I saw a white flash on the screen when it happened.
Any idea why this is happening? I have a rather full product, but I've never had any stack heap collision error notices or run time errors. (hoping this means I can keep it full and that this isn't the problem).
Is there anything I could have done or added to the product that would cause this to suddenly start happening?

My issue is that when the positions are placed properly the blue ball is hidden in the chair. How can I nudge the balls up a bit without moving my positions? This is a property of the animation. While it is in theory possible to fix this in MLP scripts, it would be hard to do, especially without using up lots of memory for poses. What we do when we face this is to either get the creator of the animation to adjust it, or else to make sure not to use it in the first pose in a menu. Most people know that when this happens they can select another pose first, jump on, and then change to the pose they want.

I can't think of any way this could happen other than really terrible lag in the sim -- causing inter-object chat messages to be lost or delayed for more than 3 minutes. I'll be looking into it; thanks for the notice. This should have nothing to do with how fully loaded your MLP is.

Chains for MLPV2
08-18-2008 08:04
People may be interested to know that Shan Bright has, with some assistance from Vesta Martynov and from me, created the CISS. Cuff Integrated Support System, a free, open source, LockGuard-based cuff chaining system that works with MLPV2 (and, indeed, just about anything you can sit on). CISS automatically chains and unchains avatars, rearranges chains if avatars change animations, handles chaining multiple avatars to your toy, works without changing existing scripts and works with MLP and MLPV2 toys. Copies are available in-world at her store at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Pouncival/28/110/90?title=BrightCorp and from SLX at http://uncensored.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=844458

When using 3 or 4 poseballs, then going down to 2 or 1 poseball...how do you "kick" a person off the poseball...that poseball goes invisible, but the person still stands there...i would like them completely off the ball, so that if i rezzed 2 again, the ball would be visible, not animating the 2d person.
Thanks!

Not sure quite what you're asking. When going from a pose in a menu with 4 ball colors to a pose in a menu with 2 balls, the second 2 balls get deleted. Assuming you're not using phantom balls, if the balls rez again (if you go back to a pose in a menu with 4 balls), the balls should bump anyone standing out of the way. If you've made them phantom by putting an asterisk in the ~ball discription, this won't happen, which is why it's not the default. But even in that case, it wouldn't be animating the other 2 avs when going back to 4 poses. If you're seeing that, then perhaps you're mixing poses with 2 anims and poses with 4 anims in the same menu. This is not supported. Perhaps I should add a warning message for when someone does this. The number of animations in a POSE line must match the number of ball colors in the MENU line above. After MONO comes out and there's more memory available, I might be able to make it so you can mix poses with different numbers of animations in the same menu.

granted, i have not been using the v2 yet, i am still using the original...i am going to be playing with the v2....but I have 6 poses under "male", 6 poses under "female" and 3 poses under "couples". If I sit both AVs on both poseballs under the "couples"...then change down to the male or female poses....it put the "extra" av into a Stand (up in the air). the most i could do was set her to the side...but if i did the "couple" animation, it sits the 2d person again.
Will this happen in v2? i can copy and paste my notecard here, if there's something i am missing...

Please try MLPV2, which works as I described above. MLP works as you've described it, I believe.

Monique asks (by IM) an interesting question: From: someone Can props be rezzed as hand-held items with MLPV 2.1 The answer is, well, not really but maybe sort of. For something to be attached to you, it has to be owned by you. So, it might be possible for the object to get rezzed and ask to attach itself to you, but only you as the MLP object's owner. I doubt that would be terribly useful. On the other hand, the object can simply rez and ask you to take it and wear it. If you do this, note that the object won't go away automatically when the pose changes. A qualified scripter could fix that, by modifying the script that goes in a prop. Or, a scripter could add a script to MLPV2 that listens for a pose message (see ~props script for an example of how to do that) and when it happens, offer to give some object to nearby avs. It wouldn't know which avs were sitting on the MLP, let alone which balls they were sitting on. That would take a new feature (modifications to the "poseX" scripts to tell other scripts who's hopping on and off). Those same mods would make it easier for folks to add scripts to make it compatible with systems like xcite, though, and I'm willing to consider doing that. Short question, long answer.

So if I’m just trying to provide myself as owner with some hand held gratification (and maybe some voyeuristic entertainment to others) it may be possible to have my prop rez already held in hand?

You can script it to request permssion to attach; which the owner then grants, after which it attaches itself. I haven't tried this myself, but I've seen objects that do it when rezzed from my inventory.
You'd have to add a script to the object to do that; MLPV2.1 won't do it for you.

poseball location relative to the animation?
08-23-2008 11:27
Where do I set the pose ball location relative to the animation? I have a couch animation that after adjusting the pose ball so my char animates in the proper place, the ball ends up down in the cushion hard to find. If I move the ball up above the cushion my char is animating up in the air.

This problem, where poseballs get buried inside the furniture, is an attribute of the animation: the hip position in the animation is too high. There is no solution, other than to fix the animation (lowering the hip position), or provide other poses that make it easier for avs to hop on.
It's possible to script a workaround, that sets an offset in the ball's sit position for a given animation in a given pose. After Mono comes out, and there's more memory to play with, I'll see if I can think of a good way to allow this.

For the couch animations I’m doing I really only using the poseballs to set the animation start locations and there are other ways I can get the llSitTarget values. With my scripts inside a couch cushion there is no real need for pose balls at all.
What I really like about MLPV2 is the menu driven code. Seeing as how this is open source is there any problem taking and using just the parts that suite my purpose? I don’t having any plans for distributing or selling and would be sure to give commented credit where applicable.
