This script, when worn on an attachment, will send anything fired at you by Quantum Core ( Made by Darling Brody) back at their owners face. I got pissed from being greifed.

may have the same (possible) issue with minimum event timing... but I thought about something even funnier...

drop in a box with a few modifications like increased sensor range and it should protect a whole area... might be laggy though, as fast as it runs but with an increased range maybe it doesn't need to be as fast?

already done, drop cube, moves to 128,128, rezzes a sim sized grid, never returns /=
Note, you need to remove some of the llOwnerSays, since they'll spam the hell out of you.

Jana,

Your little script would harass people who were not the intended target. It will randomly redirecting followers onto innocent people. Your script is feeding a NULL_KEY into the tracking script when the owner is out of the region. Effectly turning a precicly targeted attack into an indescriminate mass griefing attack, that targets everyone but you in the region. Didn't you say something about being pissed when your griefed? Learn empathy for others!

Oh, and before you start calling other people poor scripters, you should investigate llDetectedOwner(x) instead of that mess you have "llGetOwnerKey(llDetectedKey(x))". While your at it, you should check you get a valid owner key before trying to use it.

It would be nice to see you make your own product instead of just posting snippets of code designed to break other people's hard work. It has always been easier to destroy than to create. So why don't you show some real talent by creating something of your own, instead of riding the coat tails of real scripters?

I think your snippets are rather decent and may provide help to begining scripters.

I sincerely hope that any "beginning scripters" don't think that it is more than a bit of scripting forum humour (including comedy inefficiencies) which I'm sure it is. Certainly, don't enter the same sim as me with a 0.01s sensorrepeat as well as an 0.01s timer, please; not that either will trigger that fast, but it's basically a lag bomb.

It wouldn't exactly cause that much lag, the sensor would simply repeat very often, maybe raise ips by 15-20k.

Yes, why shouldn't everyone have one? Considering it's so funny and also effective.

This is a joke script, my friend. (I assume.)

The forums are generally quite dead, so very very few people will have it.

and remember half of scripting is knowing how and why things can go wrong, and finding good uses (or workarounds) for those failures anyways (as long as you don't rely on that not changing in the future)

mass griefing attack, that targets everyone but you in the region.

In case you can't read darling, the sensor is 0.6m. So unless that "innocent person" is inside of you, its not going to do anything. If a null key is given, it would just move to <0.,0.,0.>. Hardly a "mass attack."

Oh, good job on adding the script breaker to your attacks. Very mature, "if I can't beat it, break it!"

(To anyone with a collision detector or sensor for detecting attacks on your person, the only way to fix this at the moment is to remove ALL calls to llDetectedName() since this crasher works by sticking 16kb of data into an objects name. When another script tries to read it, instant heap crash.)

Now *that* is funny!

I can see the SL arms merchants escalating the stakes till only l33t scr1pt3rZ can play, further isolating themselves and their little military masturbation fantasies.

What fun.

Out of the region? You mean to say that your weapon does not follow best practices? You don't use temp objects? Your attacks are perpetual?

Tsk tsk.

So you call the practice of attacking and then leaving the scene while the weapon continues to attack a precise attack. O.k.

You then mention empathy for others.... O.K......

Look Darling, you really need to take some responsibility here. You created this weapon, do you really think we are going to sit back and let your customers attack us with impunity?

What you've shown us is that you don't care that your weapon can be used to grief while the owner has left the area.

You have shown us that it was your intention to make this thing able to attack and attack and attack till the proverbial cows come home.

We have no sympathy for you at all.

Zip, zero, nada.

In fact, i write stuff just for your users now. Just for the pricks who believe the crap you tell them.

Anonymous attacks. You're a real piece of work. You have the hide to show your face here and speak to us like you've been wronged.

Grow up. Start showing some responsible work, and maybe your cred will rise.

Until you do, you are just a clown who makes not the best weapon in SL, but the shitiest.

Whisper.

Jana Kamachi ,

Jana : "already done, drop cube, moves to 128,128, rezzes a sim sized grid, never returns"
Jana : "In case you can't read darling, the sensor is 0.6m."

Did you forget about the version you made that does the whole sim? My reading is just fine, but your memory seems to be a little less than perfect.

Jana : "If a null key is given, it would just move to <0.,0.,0.>."

You have not seen the tracking script. Your assumption about how it works in wrong.

Jana : "Oh, good job on adding the script breaker to your attacks"

I think you will find my script breaker only breaks your detection script that you designed to detect my nonphysical orbitor (TAP). Your script is the only one that dosnt filter out collisions with nonphysical objects because it is trying to detect my TAP object. Everyone else filters out nonphysical objects to avoid creating lag everytime they walk on a floor.

Jana : Very mature, "if I can't beat it, break it!"

Pretty much sums up your scripting ability. I you cant create something cool, you try to break other people's creations. Remember the hours you spent in WT crashing the scripts of everyone who TPed in. Real mature!

**********************

Whispering Hush ,

I like the way you pose a question, answer it yourself, and then judge me based on your own answer.

Example
Whispering : "Your attacks are perpetual?"
...AND...
Whispering : "So you call the practice of attacking and then leaving the scene while the weapon continues to attack a precise attack. O.k."

Whispering : "Look Darling, you really need to take some responsibility here. You created this weapon, do you really think we are going to sit back and let your customers attack us with impunity?"

Official word from the Lindens is that Creators are not responsible for the misuse of their creations. No creator has ever been punished for the behaviour of thier customers. I honestly dont care what you do when you are attacked by one of my customers, so long as you do not think it gives you the right to direct your anger at me. I include landmarks to the combat sims with my weapons. If they are used outside of combat sims, you know where the AR button is.

Fact:
Jana's motivation was stated as being "tired of being griefed." Yet she made a region wide device that does not discriminate between people attacking her and those who are using the device with the consent of the person being targeted. (Don't the people doing the right thing deserve some consideration too?)

Fact:
Jana's script is designed to create a malfunction by injecting data into the tracking script. She dosn't perform the required checks on the data beforehand, because she dosn't know what they are. She has no way to predict how her device will effect the behaviour because she does not have access to the script controlling it.

fact:
The tracking script exhibits undesirable behaviour due to Jana's tampering. That is behaviour both myself and Jana did not intend. The tracking script does not correctly handle being passed a NULL_KEY because it CANT be passed a NULL_KEY by my scripts.

fact:
Jana sat in weapons testing for hours using a script breaker to crash every script with an open listen. Everything from AO, Hair, and HUDS were spitting out stack overflow errors. 90% of the scripts that were crashing were not even weapons. (Don't the people doing the right thing deserve some consideration too?)

fact:
Jana is distributing other scripts designed to disrupt the intended behaviour of SL. eg. Force Prophecies hack, and bypassing the NO-MAPPING of people. (where are her ethics?)

conclusion:
Jana is behaving in a very irresponsible manner and should not be suprized when people become upset at what she is doing.

opinion:
Jana is incapable of making her own products, so she spends her time looking for ways to grief other creators. I'm sure the makers of Force Prophecies didn't deserve to have their product hacked, nor did the people wearing AOs deserve to have their scripts crashed. Apparently Jana felt they did deserve it.

You really don't get it.

That's too bad. You seem to able to script passably. Like I said on your forum, your ethics are in your hip pocket.

Merry Christmas Darling.
