Either Man can enjoy universal freedom, or Man cannot. If it is possible then everyone can act freely if they don't stop anyone else from doing same. If it is not possible, then conflict will arise anyway so punch those that try to stop you. In conclusion the only strategy that wins in all cases is that of doing what you want against all adversity, as long as you respect that right in others.

*Note: It has been wisely pointed out that using script commands directly from the HP series would potentially violate WB's copyrights. As such, I will choose different names/commands than the ones listed here. I don't know if it would help but it looks latin to me and WB cant copywrite foreign languages as magic words for spells...for instance: Spell: Crucio Command: /crucio In latin: crucio : to torture, torment. Spell: Levicorpus Command: /levicorpus In latin: levo : to raise, lift up / relieve, ease / diminish, weaken, impair. corpus corporis : body, corpse. |

Hogwarts as a name is certainly JKRowling's property. But intellectual copyright may well apply to a boarding school identifiable as a modern school specifically for wizards and witches. I can't think of another book or series with that precise concept at the moment so WB might have you there. I'm not sure if 'Hogwarts' was ever used, but go watch the movie 'Troll' from around the late 80's. It deals with witchcraft/wizardry, and the main character's name is Harry Potter. You can't copyright a name. You can't copyright a word. You can trademark them, and creation of items such as 'Harry Potter Magic Wand' would certainly infringe on the trademark. I'm not so sure use of 'Potterspeak' for your wand would be as infringing. Only if the actual words were registered trademarks, would it be subject to trademark litigation. But to consider it copyright infringement would be a very very gray area. FYI, one could potentially acquire a patent for creating wands in virtual environments. If one were to do so and then EA games or WB were to create a virtual environment which used Harry Potter wands, you could have an intellectual property case against them for patent infringement. |

There was a scooby doo cartoon serries involving a magic school, (it was bad, but that goes without saying). Scooby-doo... man, I hated that show. I never saw what people liked about it. It was so predictable. "Aaah! A monster" "Aaah! Run!" "Let's set a trap" "Ah! We've got you! Wait, it's a suit" "Woah, it's [name]! What a surprise". I think WB probably wouldn't mind, if it's all attributed to them, and it's like a fan club. However, the fact that LL directly converts into $ might bring up problems... selling trademarked things is bad. _____________________

However, the fact that LL directly converts into $ might bring up problems... selling trademarked things is bad. Don't get me started on Scooby, man. Even to date, we have not been able to perfect the projection of three-dimensional holographic images. We must have merely forgotten how; in the sixties, apparently, they were available at your local Radio Shack. Somehow, the guy who had been dressing up as a Yeti to scare the bank away from repossessing his ski lodge managed to afford eight or ten holographic projectors and a luminescent body suit. Not only that, but he had built a highly expensive and complex control system with video cameras in the basement, where no one thought to look. What’s even more disturbing is this: at the end of every show Velma (it was always Velma) would instantly know the precise location of each holographic projector. And when she activated them, they always played the same 30-second loop of action, over and over again. Never mind the fact that the “holographic” monster had thrown a table at them during the show. |

^ Good lord. Hahaha... that's brilliant. How's that for a dose of reality?
Hey, I liked Scooby-Doo when real ghosts and the Harlem Globetrotters were on. _____________________
