I'm curious? Why wasn't I told this "rule" before I purchased an os sim???

when i read most messages right you all are not scr*wed by LL but by your LANDLORDS
they sold/rented you the place NOT Linden Lab.

I'dutch and rules are quite simple here about buying: the seller has to tell all about the object, the buyer has to investigate all about the object so when he find something he doesn't like he can refuse the transfer of ownership.

i have 3750 prims...so i use that / i have 65000sqm ..so i use that/...... my car can speed up till 250 km /h should we use that too????
use some common sence before complaining.

That's about the size of it Bernard. Thanks for the great post.

Saying something is "not certified" or "not advised" is not the same as saying it is not allowed and will result in anything like a 66% price hike. Are you going to keep your car if the price goes up by that much because you drove it along the newest autobahn all recently publicized by the government, with no obvious problems? Are you going to quietly give it up after you have put time and money into it for months and months, when the price becomes too high because of that?

Linden changed prices on full-prim sims so that their landlords lost huge amounts of money. Then they lowered prices on open spaces and advertised them as the hottest new thing. Linden made it possible to rent them out and gave them double prims. They said nothing at all while homes and stores (and forests and oceans, both low and high use) were created for months.

How strange for them to suddenly discover problems now. And they cannot afford to maintain their business, after the openspaces gave them so much money during the summer? What kind of business is this? Don't you find it just a little odd?

No, Bernard, it's Linden that is trying to go faster and faster and collect more and more. I will really be very sad if they make the world of SL crash, but I will not believe it was our fault.

I have to agree that a certain amount of homework would be prudent before embarking on any land purchase. In the case of Open Space Sims this homework isn't that difficult..simply click on the link above..'Land'..then click on 'Open Space'.

An Openspace is a type of Private Region intended for light use, such as countryside or ocean.

There you have it in one sentence, and I really don't understand how anyone can misinterpret that one sentence to mean you can set up a business or even build there.

Well, Silly ol' me Perre! I would have thought someone responsible for selling land and sims would have the "honesty" of explaining this, and would be held responsible FOR NOT INFORMING Buyers of any "conditions" to sims. When all this to-do started, I had never even heard the term "open air sim" I had purchased land plots before, but never anything like this. I guess I've learned a big lesson with both Linden Labs and "Sellers of Land" in Second life.

If only I had known ..

Sorry if this is spam. I have only had my sim a couple of weeks and am devastated that I am going to be expected to pay this incredible increase in tiers. I bought this sim for my own peaceful and beautiful place to live, no commercial enterprises going on here. Out of 3750 prims only 847 prims being used, so I am not being excessive on resources. Seems unfair that people like me will be paying out for those few that have been abusing their sims. I paid 88,000L$ for this sim and now face having to give it up as soon as these excessive tiers come in. Of course, I would not have bought this 2 weeks ago, had I known of the increases in the pipeline, guess we live and learn. I see a lot of people just giving up right now, which is a great shame.
