Thank-you folks for all the support. I'm glad to see that the letter has reached out to others as well. I have no idea if / when Linden Labs is going to try to come to come better accomodation but I'm hoping it is soon because if this policy is going into effect January 1 then as of December 1 I will need to start reallocating sims as I'm sure everyone else impacted by the change will be doing as well.
To all those that are talking about abandoning OS sims. Don't just the gun just yet - hopefully with this amount of negative feedback Linden Labs will do something before the end of next week - at least I hope so anyways.

K I think the saddest part of this whole debacle, is that even if things do change, people no longer have any trust for LL. Many have already abandoned their OSS on the basis that throwing two months more money down the drain to Linden Lab is a waste whn they know they are going to have to abandon by January 1. Quick and painful, they've deleted their stuff and left. I hope that Linden Lab reads your letter and acts upon it... but it is clear that they either didn't know what an extreme reaction they were going to get - in which case they lack insight into their products and their users - or they knew and didn't care. I'd love to know if they do actually pay anyone for PR and what the new communications person is doing for their money... if they had asked a dozen residents wha they thought of this announcement - OSS owners or not - they'd have been able to predict the outcome. ~Cali~
