I think they've closed it because the discussion is over. That the discussion never happened in the first place is what makes it insulting.

Compare and contrast this with Zee's thread where he actively engaged with residents and then closed the discussion, without anyone really having a problem with that and you see clearly how to conduct a discussion.

I don't think this should have been viewed as surprising. I am amazed that it ran as long as it did, as a wildfire at that. Should have been channelled correctly. However, from a standpoint of professional competence, the entire thing was massively mishandled OR perfectly handled. This depends on your point of view.

After all Mitch Kapoor did make it pretty clear that he considered the world he invested in was sculpted and settled as a result of churn and made it also pretty clear how it was time to chuck out the early adopters and pave the way for less demanding "consumers".

Meh. As many have said ... no trust no support no loyalty and no money.

I was just in the welcome area and I had people asking me stuff. For the first time ever I just said "I personally think the whole thing is rubbish these days."

I know I am not the only one (leaving aside the hysterics of people who have come to rely on SL as an income).
