From: Vanessa Sakai If you must allow teens on the main grid (which I think is a bad idea) they should be restricted to new mainland and to islands in which the owner allows them. I belieave that most adults on the main grid don't want teens around. We like the freedom we have now. I can see the appeal of merging the grids - if I had kids and we both SL'ed, I'd want the ability to hang out with them, if they could deal with such embarrasment - but it also sorta scares me. I own a high traffic (real traffic - no bots or camping) club and already spend a fair amount of time dealing with people that I think are too close or over the border of looking under age. The thought of also being responsible for making sure people are 18+ in RL, something I really have absolutely no control over and cannot verify, is not a happy one..

From: M Linden @70 -- Linda, thanks for your post. Bots are a frequent topic in the forums and in the Lab and are worthy of separate thread. It's a complex topic because they are used for a wide variety of purposes.
Bots may indeed be used for a wide variety of purposes, but the vast *majority* of them by headcount are used for only a few purposes. Notably: Gaming traffic stats and creating false avatar icons on the maps Scripted bulk execution of functions like group invites that are not allowed in the LSL API, perhaps for good reason If the first category alone were made unprofitable, the small number of bots remaining might be much more of a non-issue.

Land store

I know from the old land I'm on, losing walls, terraforming effects etc for days at a time is not unusual. We need some stability on the old type land.
I'd like to know what's meant by a new land store, does it mean buying land directly from LL? or is it new or second sales or auctions?

There is no way you can safely merge TEEN grid with main grid. If you pull the teen area in as its own continent within the main grid and make it so teens cannot tp to main and adults cannot tp to teenland, then you'll have the common platform, sure.
But you will also be unable to stop teens from buying/selling naughty poses, beds, certain prims, etc. Even if you somehow make it so no teen can buy adult stuff in SLexchange (and can we please have the old name back now?), there is always a way. If you don't think the teens will find a way to get around the safety restrictions, then it is clear that none of you have any children. They will get prims, beds and everything else from the maingrid if you combine the grids - the only questions will be how and how many seconds it'll take for them to invent the how. I will tell you this, if the grids are combined, then my daughters will not be coming to SL as planned in a couple of years - it won't be safe to let them.
Here's a hint of what is to come - poseballs marked "Hot Coffee" won't being used in coffee houses, and unless you're a teen who talks to other teens, you won't know what it really is just by searching for keywords. And somehow, as little as you patrol the grids, I doubt you'll be interested in going through every teen's inventory and checking to see if it's naughty or nice.

From: Blunt Fhang I know from the old land I'm on, losing walls... You'd be amazed at how many "missing prims from parcel" are caused by people accidentally hitting some keys into the Z axis as they were editting/moving something. One person I know had close to 30 prims missing from their land, only to find that they were all at absurd altitudes where nobody ever saw them. The fix to that was to save all the buildings to inventory, wipe the parcel clean, then put them back out again.
