ok, I personally LOVE being able to edit a worn attachment on the FIRST screen....I've never spent so much time in appearance than I have tonight. It SUCKS.

That change I have found particularly painful, as most of the work I do in SL is related to attachments. I find myself constantly going into appearance mode, because after *years* of using SL, i'm that used to edit being precisely where it should be.

However, given the wonderful XML qualities of the interface, it's not that hard to change it back, and I'll be doing so from now until eternity. An inconvenience, but one I can live with.


How? How do I fix it?

Through the various RCs, they've broken it occasionally. I don't know whether it's working again or not. My point was that when it is working, I always used it for appearance actions, to take off sox, etc. and thus, any tiny or total prim avatar would be able to use it.

Like the change made for consistency in the layering that has made skins with transparent areas unusable in the designed way, this re-ordering of the pie choices is completely without consulting anyone that uses the client, apparently. Did they put these changes in the beta client, to get feedback? I'm unaware of it, if they did.

Imagine working on attachments; this convenience turns into a major trip hazard! Oh, and until LL messed with it, it had been possible to click on your name to edit your appearance, look at profile, groups, etc.


I downloaded the new viewer last night because I had to. I did not like the new pie so far, because I did not know what was going on..there should be some kind of documentation when you download...was there? Second, my face kept disappearing, I was a black face with white eyeballs. This never happened before.

ALso, I got a message that I was not adult verified and the adult box is not available to me in search. I am adult verfied on SL's web page. I did not see anywhere in world to affect my adult status, such as a drop down giving me the option , or directing the system to check its records again. I put in a ticket to SL.

The lag issue has gotten very very bad. It takes forever for the grey boxes to come into focus. Nothing has changed on my computer. What gives, is there some way I can fix this? I hate that I am becomming depressed over SL. I may need therapy.

Well I've tried a number of things, erasing my TEMP directory, totally uninstalling/reinstalling 1.23.1, to no avail...sent a number of crash reports and only hope someone at LL is reading them....I can't get past "Loading World....."

I have NEVER had a problem with the RC's until 1.23....ever....

There are a couple files in your Second Life\skins\default\xui\en-us folder (or substitue en-us for your language)

The files is menu_pie_attachment.xml and menu_pie_avatar.xml.
The simplest thing to do is to copy the version from the 1.22 viewer and overwrite the copies from the 1.23 RC.

But there are a few caveats. You will have to do this every time the viewer is updated, and you may lose any new features added since 1.22 (like ARing avatars) The best fix would be to re-arrange the XML layout of the 1.23 copy to fit the old layout. But that requires some knowledge of XML and the viewer. I'm sure someone could do it. :)
