Out of curiosity, do you have any research to back that up? Almost every script I wear is mono, and I don't have failed TPs. Maybe it's just that I have less scripts than normal.
I noticed that I was having more teleport failures on newer avatars, so I got Uchi Desmoulins to recompile the scripts in his "Felis" in LSL for me, and also recompiled my AO in LSL , and it made a big difference. It didn't eliminate them, but it went down from about one in five to ..., I don't know, one in twenty or thirty.

There's likely a number of causes of TP failures, so it's possible that my inventory is on a marginal server, or my internet connection is slightly dodgier than yours, and this was just the last straw.

Thanks be - A Linden that talks to us!

Lil

Your attitude is heart-warming to those of us who have felt marginalised during these last months.

Your preparedness to communicate what you can is very well received (by li'l ol' paranoid me at least!).

I too bemoan this inability of your programmers to understand the consequences of their changes, but at least we know there are issues being dealt with.

Now, when will we see and end to this sim-freeze bug?

Seconded.

Babbage put a new sim version on one of the beta grid regions but I heard that he told people to use the stats back to look for differences. From what I heard, it seemed like people were looking more at 'lag' than the freezes.

Personally, I'd like to see Babbage (or somebody..) find a moderately-heavy main grid region and copy it *twice* onto the beta grid - two copies of the same region, right next to each other, one running the old code, one running any perf fixes that Babbage thinks are ready.

Eek.. my region has just been restarted with the new server and I'm getting a constant "Unable to create requested object. Please try again" message and I can't save notecards. This happened after a recent restart, as I recall, and it was something wrong on the server -- a dead service or something.

Er.. Did somebody sneak in script limits without warning us first?

I can't save an existing script, without changing anything in it, due to a 'out of memory' error

/me expects Lil is probably pretty busy today and maybe not following the forums.

Maybe somebody in-world could give her a poke and make sure she knows about these new out-of-memory errors that people are seeing..

Can take several tries for inventory to load, especially during a restart.

Standard way to cope with this:

- log out of SL
- find the cache folder on your HD and delete the contents of it
- log back into a *quiet* region and allow inventory to repopulate; do NOT TP or access inventory while it does
- when inventory is repopulated, relog once again. Then things should be ok.

The region you were last logged into needs to be restarted. Region owner or LL support can do this.

Log in as an alt (make a new account for it if you don't have one, alts are handy) and send your main an IM. That sometimes pops them out.

Thanks for filing this! I'm working with Oskar Linden in QA to figure out what the story is.

Edit:
It would be helpful to know some region names where this is happening.

Edit:
We are continuing to look for the source of this bug, but must continue the 1.34.1 roll to eliminate the original content issue. Depending on what QA finds, another roll may be in order later this week.

Rolling Restart is Complete

The rolling restart is complete.

Just so you know, we aren't ignoring SVC-5150. We've got what we believe to be a solid repro (as in 'reproduction',) and will start working on a fix tomorrow.

lost a dance hud and 35 dances valued at about 10,899L
12-15-2009 22:20
I lost my personal dance hud and about 35 dances in it and can't res the box or attach it says " Unable to create requested object. Object is missing from database." and when I try to rezz to edit it to ck the dances that I have collected over the 25.5 months I have been in SL and paid anywhere for 250-350L per dance let alone the 399L for the hud, all I get for rezzing is " Attempt to rez an object failed." I spent an hour with Live chat and filed my ticket. I have cleared all my caches and go to quiet place and relogged so that my inventory would load up fully and it still didn't come back. now is LL gonna give my may L$ back for all that I lost in that hud and dances some that I can't replace cuz they are not made anymore??

This is certainly not minor! There is a security bug that threatens content theft and it needs to be patched immediately. The specifics of said bug are not disclosed as a matter of policy.

Now we can't have bugs that threaten the correct functioning of content theft, can we? :)

It would be nice to know if the "bug" was properly squashed. Or "exploit" properly patched. This whole mess seemed to be on par with the dire consequences of this year's earlier emergency stimulus package passage. Which, apparently was very overstated. I hope this is not a similar "emergency".

How about assuring us that the deployment of the new server software actually fixed the problem. And what the problem was in the first place would be nice to know too.

Yes, the deploy solved the original security concern. There is now one less content exploit out on Agni.
