Is it only me who is wondering about the dates written there?
Linden Labs has switched to Second Life Solar Time, so they can get 6 times as much work done each calendar day. The only visible side effect is that Torley's videos will have to be slowed dow before you can understand him.

Sigh. I'll fix the dates. Sorry about that.

The rolling restart is 86% done at 8AM.

Re: connecting to the SL Grid, I can't comment about the timescale for opensourcing the SL server. However, if you're interested in cross-grid compatibility, pay attention to the Architecture Working Group, and to the Open Grid Public Beta : http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Open_Grid_Public_Beta

The email bug that is being fixed appears to be a hard broken as opposed to a timing error or load sensitive issue. From the description it is simply broken. Any hard failure/broken should be caught in regression testing. Does this mean that LL is not yet doing regression testing on server code before deploying?

timer, state_entry, on_rez events still not fixed
09-03-2008 08:29
The test object I gave Vektor Linden that was misbehaving on 1.24.3 is still not working on 1.24.4.

This means that state_entry and on_rez are not run before the timer event.

This is causing some rezzed objects to immediatly delete if they have a self cleaning script based on a timer event.

Working
09-03-2008 09:47
Applause to the Linden team for bringing out the update so quickly. Scripts that were paralyzed in the original deploy seem to be working now and my sim seems much faster. I know you needed mono out and I think it took some fortitude to take the hit in the forum press and not decide to do a rollback. I am sure there will be further needed changes but I hope Mono brings the promised improvements.

at 9:28, the second-half roll is about 87% complete.

Re: 1.24.5, we're not definitely sure yet we're going to do that. We're putting it on the calendar in case we want to do another bugfix release.

1.24.4 is everywhere on the grid now.

I'm going to be offline tomorrow, and won't be able to check this form for at least 24 hours, so everybody please excuse my silence.

That is the full benefit of using that filming pathway in fashion shows.

Eh?
Filmingpath is a scripted physical system, with the issues I stated, how does that help?

We use our own systems, which as I said, have been converted to Mono, with the current instabilities, due to the server code update, we cannot test, nor confirm any noticeable benefits from any conversions.

Disappointed
09-05-2008 01:31
I must say that I am very disappointed with this latest Server update

Suffering several server crashes a day, not even a high load on server and it just crashes out.

Between constant Viewer crashes and now constant server crashes . I find my self working to recover from the crashes more than having a good time in SL.
Seems like i spend more time dealing with trying to recover than doing anything productive.
And now on top of it all I get a popup error message trying to send a group notice. The popup tells me Failure to Send Notice Please try again later! Lamenesssssssss

This is not fun any more Toto

I hope i am not paying extra for instability ( I think I am )

I've noticed a lot more server instability with 1.24.3 and 1.24.4, can you provide a link that details what's being fixed in 1.24.5?

Been trying to find causes for and reproduce crashes for JIRA, but it's a bit tough. I'm guessing it's related to object entry into simulators by mono compiled scripts, but that's very generalized and just a crapshoot at this point. It seemed to affect us the most during repeated region crossings by mono compiled aircraft (dogfighting simulator).

Unable to convert from LSL to mono
09-07-2008 11:10
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but,
I have an AI script that gives an error message when trying to save in mono, yet works perfectly well in LSL.

Report says: UThread injection failed.

One thing I have noticed, is that sitting on untargeted prims is way more reliable than it's been in ages. Now I've probably jinxed it by mention, but whoever did that, thanks, it's nice while it lasts =)
