Prospero why do you guys keep rolling out this when it looks like it suits you. I think at least you could send out a gridwide warning like you used to do when i joined SL in 2006/2007. At that time you also had every 2nd wednesday where you closed the grid for residents, and then you did major gridupdates in 4 hours.

I talked to many people that actually want the wednesdays back instead of the updates that you do now, if i knew how to make a JIRA (or what it's called) so people could vote for it i would.

You have GOT to be kidding! When I first came to SL the down times on Wed/Thurs were terrible ... everyone locked out of SL for hours on end, and then when they re-opened logins things frequently went in the toilet quickly. No thank you ... Prospero and the team are doing a great job and I'm sure the restarts happen when updates are ready and QA finished which is as it should be ... things are slowly getting better ... and I still <3 my SL

Sculpted prims problems
02-04-2009 10:29
Since you've set this new version of server i cannot walk in the sculpted caves i've created on my island. It was fine before now i i cannot enter them, it's like they are a solid bloc ...

i'm very upset.

Are the prims acting solid when they are marked "phantom", or has the "phantom" setting on the prims been lost?

I can't find anything in JIRA about this, could you create an entry on it?

No they are not marked as phantom, it was fine like this i could walk in and i had collision detection on the walls, now it act like if the sculpted prim was in a transparent box.

I know i can make them phantom and set tranparent prims in for collision detection, but it was OK before that server deploy so i wonder why this feature as been removed !

That's odd. The collision envelope of a sculpted prim is supposed to be a half-unit sphere. Does it seem as if the collision envelope of the prims is changed? To try and figure out what's going on (I'm not suggesting this as a workaround) does unlinking them or moving them make a difference?

Did the caves break today or with the earlier 1.25 rollout? I am wondering if the change was part of the fix to SVC-2511, see Andrew's comments in there about the work he was doing with collisions and avatars.

I noticed it today as i rezzed a new one and could not walk in, so i went to the older one i used to hide in and i could not enter anymore ...
I restarted the sim but it did not changed a thing.

Katy -- when do you remember the caves last working?

What's the SLURL for your caves?

Sang: that happens sometimes. I've found that sending the "stuck" avatar an IM often unsticks it.

Ive tried that. my partner just told me that it's been like that now for two hours, and no offence to the tech support, but I explained the problem to them, and all I get was a notification to submit another ticket even though all the relevant information is there in the first ticket.

Heck, all that's happened here is that my business is off by half. A typical RR day. Do we get to do it again next week, of do we have to wait two weeks?

With 1.25, we are seeing one of the apache2 process occasionally go nuts. It's rare, but when it happens it can cause things to get bad on the host where it's running. If you're having problems such as inexplicable bad lag in a sim, contact support. They *may* be able to help.

I am not sure if the group loading problem is related to this or not. I have heard a few reports of it. Has anybody filed a JIRA on it? If so, what's the JIRA number?

tried that...told by support no problem with media and lag, yet all AVs in Hanaji had same problem.
Also seems to be major problems with media in that sim too. seems to have screwed scripted screens so only the media base texture selected in land tab will show media on any prim with that texture, even land tab / options comes up with media picture whilst snapshot is loading, and group ownership status of objects takes absolutely ages to load.

Rolling restart has begun. Note that during the RR today is your *last chance* to get the limited edition 1.25 rolling-restart Linden bear. I'll be at my island in Linden Village (see my picks) with a Bear Dispenser... drop by to get a bear and/or to chat. (I will be a bit flaky, as of course I'm focusing attention in other windows on things like, well, the rolling restart.)

So my cave doesn't interest you anymore ?

it's kinda annoying to loose things and to be ignored

everything was working fine and now i'm gonna need to double prim usage cause you removed something ...

You could, at least, give me some explanations

Katy -- I'm very busy. I will take a look when I get a chance. However, I *suspect* the reason is the change in sculptie collision behavior mentioned by another poster above. Also, if you are having individual problems, what you should do is contact support. I will look at the cave to see if there is a bug in the current version that's not expected-- just to make sure there's not something we need to be thinking about for a future fix. In any event, I personally am unlikely to be able to solve your own problem.

Katy: you need to report this problem at jira.secondlife.com , since I believe Prospero is not the person who implemented the change nor the person in a position to roll it back. Since you have a snapshot of yourself in the cave before the change, you could perhaps take a snapshot of yourself standing on the new collision envelope, and attach both images to your jira entry to document the change.

/me grumbles about having to work during the day..

Hey, any chance you (or some Linden) could do a thread on what's coming in the future? Like, 1.24 was mono and 1.25 seems mostly focused on bug fixes - what's the roadmap look like for the semi-near future?

Not looking for commitments, just wondering what the current plans (which are, of course, subject to chage) are..
