How much further will favoritism at LL go?

Asking Linden Lab what this is all about gave me the answer; it's just a test, it will be extended when it works. So basically this means that the rest will follow when the cookie jar is empty.

Linden Lab crushed the little bit of trust they gained again after the tier change postponement. They keep on making it merely impossible to grow for the "newcomers".

Well the good news is that Linden Lab is showing it's real face by doing this stunt on the inlogpage. SL is a place for the early adaptors, newcomers have no business there.

Nope, I wouldn't either. But I would also expect to take a certain amount of flak for getting special treatment, too.

I'm not even against LL giving preferential treatment to their best customers. But for gods' sake, do it consistently.

This bennie a) wasn't announced until after it happened, and b) we haven't yet seen any proof that "all" the big estate owners will be given this, and c) how many people hold over 250 estates anyway, and how was this cutoff arrived at?

Extended to ALL estate owners? I'll believe it when I see it.

There's only 365 opportunities a year to advertise on the MOTD. I guess they would have to limit the pool.

There's no reason that they can't give every single person logging in to SL a completely separate message every time they log in. So the way I figure it, there's over 20 million opportunities a year.

2 days, 2 estates. So far LL has been astonishingly consistent. Does it matter what the cutoff number is. 250, 150 50, 10? No matter what it is, those below the cutoff would be indignant and outraged.

You may be prepared to take some heat for being featured, fine. Would you be as prepared to accept attacks based upon who you chose as your partner, be it RL or SL, as more than one person has done regarding the first estate owner featured?

If you are in competition with the estates being advertised, then it is indeed promotion. Especially since the context does not make it clear it's advertising and looks like a LL project.

i believe the issue was 'cronyism', dating back to years past.
i think this whole nightshade angle is a red herring.

I don't disagree that LL has as usual done a lousy job. But to be tarring and feathering the businesses themselves is over the top in my opinion. I wouldn't say no if offered the opportunity, and most others probably wouldn't either.

I thought the buzz was that LL cared only about newcomers, and didn't care about the early adopters anymore. Did a new meme get sent out?

Yea, the day i announced my engagement to Nina, is the day everything for me changed and the hate brigade ramped up their machine against me. Any perusal of my posting history on SLU by me from 8-2007 to 4-2008 shows the marked change of attitude by several prominent people towards me once we were engaged.

So kinda funny how that is being looked at as wrong now by the exact same people who did that to me.

I'd wager more land is held and tier paid to LL by those who don't own estates with 250 sims, far more I'd wager. Business wise this isn't the brightest decision ever made.

Very few people would object to those who own more sims getting a break somewhere, but not on the login screen with an official message from Linden Lab.

It don't make one bit of difference who's sleeping with whom, who isn't sleeping with whom, how many islands any given land baron owns, or any of that stuff, that is getting them listed on the MOTD.

The MOTD isn't even telling us about such trivial matters as, oh I dunno, the massive impact on the economy when a whole lot of land and business owners are forced to close their shops, move to a piece of land which is promised to be "like for like" but in the majority of cases won't be, lose a whole lot of money getting the word out that they're in a new location. Lost sales when people can't find their store anymore. Lost sales when people who can find it discover they're not allowed to visit the store anyway. Lost sales from businesses that haven't moved because the business that have moved have less money to spread around to employees or to other businesses from the owners of said moved businesses buying their goods. Employees of other affected businesses who now can't and won't get paid not spending money where they spend it, now causing those locations to lose sales. The whole mess will spread rapidly, and people who insist this doesn't impact them because they don't indulge in adult activities are happily blind to the real ramiifcations of this.

These are the kinds of things that everybody needs to and must see on the MOTD. Not ads for where you can find attractive versions of Pleasantville in Second Life.

I want to share how sad and upset I am from the service I had have from some concierge team and not all. In regards the sims transfer tickets.
As it seems that, some get their tickets done within 48 hours and some are done in from 5 to15 days working days of course mean almost a month.
The reason I was told from Concierge Team (the other pay more tier to LL pay 5000us$ a month and more!!! that why their ticket are done faster) do you think this is fair ?? Or equal? As some concierge, team says we have to be equal with every one?
I am a new investor in SL and this doesn’t encourage me to invest more at all now i own 10 SIMS and i was willing to spend more money in this game. Normally we should get more support and encouragement to invest in the game rather than telling (Sorry we cannot we have to wait other are done faster because they spend more than 5000US$ per month as Tier) meanwhile others their ticket is done in 48 hours because they pay LL 5000$US and more.
It made me feel like in RL who have more money control, have more power, and get more respect, some member of Concierge team seems upset when you do ask them many times about the ticket you that you did.
I want to say even though a big thank you to TJ Linden who showed me a great help and understanding.

I will end up with this words may be LL would like to review the steps of SIMS transfer tickets
