Test succesful. I was getting a message saying I did not have permission to access newreply on another thread. Could have been something about what I was pasting in here I guess.

Several patterns of text that resemble SQL statements trigger this.
"From" following "Select" is one example. Do a forum search for forbidden reply and you'll see the other patterns to avoid. _____________________

If I really need something backed up I just use copybot. No need for silly services.
My "copybot" is just a mix of libsl's test client and stuff ripped from the original copybot. I modded it a bit to save in xml format. Newer versions have that, but i could only find an ancient version. |

I don't see what the big fuss is about, if you don't trust the service then don't use it. This thread is about awareness and discussion. The advertisement for this service was posted in the forum, therefore it is open to discussion about the performance, database security, other options, etc. When you see a possible avenue to exploiting and taking advantage of the unaware, it is good to point it out, discuss about it and see if that avenue really exists or just something to not worry about. _____________________

It's not necessary to test when you're on a forum. If you're trying to reply to a message and you get the permission problem, you're trying to reply to a subforum that prohibits replies here. |
