It's more difficult for a woman to cross-dress since so many men's styles are 'borrowed' for females in everyday wear.

I wear jeans and T shirts a lot of the time - I assume my favourite old jeans were designed for women - they fit me fine, anyway - but then I am quite skinny and not all that curvy!

I did go to one contest dressed in the 'city chic male' outfit, obviously without the beard and glasses and with may hair loose - actually I thought it fitted me and suited me better than the original wearer.

I've had a time where I wore women's high heel boots, simply because the male shoes were all horrible. They were all way too big, a simple pair of sneakers would make my feet look as wide as my shoulders. And yes, wearing high heels looked odd, but it was way better and even more natural than wearing those battleships for shoes.

I still find most men's shoes horrible, but there are at least some good ones nowadays.
Hair was a tough one as well, untill I found this men's department at Girl6. I've worn that hair eversince. It might be open for improvement, but I'm not gonna bother shopping for it.

I don't really cross dress. I do have some men's clothing (tuxedos, etc) that I wear, but only because they're simply better than the female equivalent, and I wear them with women's shoes.

In RL, the best thing to wear to bed is your guy's white long-sleeve huge shirts, open, and I of course have those in SL as well :)

does a tux coat black shorts nylons and heels count kinda a variation on a dance tux count?

but really the few times i have had a rl bf my closetwas my closet and his closet was both of our closets so whats the big deal.

some of my guy feinds tell me a woman in a tux shirt or bussiness shirt is dead sexy hot before that i had worried a bit that it might be to butch but appentally not

I love guys' suits! I'm looking for one atm, think of Balthazar "Bali" from Constantine.
It was like forever before I knew we could wear stuff marked for males, dur.
I don't know what I thought, some, it doesn't work on fem avies?
I did have a guys plain black tshirt on the other week and was camming around and realized, the shirt had guy nips for their pecs, which *ahem* are lower then fem ones.

Some people aren't following the the mesh templates correctly for women's clothes either... I've run into a few bikini and tank tops that ARE intended to cover, but, once they're worn... "Woops!" =^-^=

I once went to a Glen or Glenda event (cross dressing, for those not conversant with the Ed Wood reference) dressed in a pink miniskirt and a pink angora sweater.

I looked terrible.

SL definitely needs more and better men's clothing. Most of the stuff I've found has been rather. . .flamboyant for my taste unless I stick with the goth stuff or just wear jeans.

I am making some custom outfits for a male, who is a musician with a distinctive appearance in RL that he wants to really play with in SL. I find myself making things for him right out of the gate because we cannot find much out there for retro-glam male rockers. He wouldn't hesitate wearing female outfits that worked for him (in Sl or RL, for that matter... :-) )

I end up wearing almost everything I have made for him so far. First, just to try it on and adjust the seams and look (I am new at this and just learning) and then, because retro-glam rocker stuff looks swell on a female avi.

Hair was a real problem. The best I could come up with for him so far was combining a female long curly wig with a texture "underhair" that added the sideburns and some additional fullness.

My female alt will, occasionally, if it looks good. But she's a girl, and girls can always wear men's clothing and no one thinks twice about it.

My Hindi god alt won't, although more than once someone has called his Dhoti a dress. Rather disturbing.

And, um, me? ... no. Just ... no.

I have a few tops intended for male avs, but you do have to be careful about the shading.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Do you ever wear male clothes on your female avatar or female clothes on your male avatar? Like buying a jacket that says 'men's jacket' and wearing it on your female avatar or taking an earring from a jewelry shop and putting it on your male avatar. Not asking for any confessions or revelations here.

I'm currently wearing a lovely long hair style that I just bought. It is called Randy. The ad board shows a man. And it was from the men section of the hair store.

Ironically, considering the thread, I was wearing a business suit that I could have easily worn if I was in a male shape.

I didn't have any hair from that place, so, since it was in the sale section . . wait, that is the other hair I bought. I bought two hair styles there, one male, one female, and the female one was a hair fair one that I didn't buy until last night (what I was about to say was that since I didn't have any hair from there, and as their demo "dark brown" looked purplish to me, I bought the "all colors" package when I bought the hair, but that was not the sale one, and it was the female hair; liked the hair, needed to know what the textures looked like; color demos normally do nothing for me). The male one I bought naturals, reds, darks, and maybe a fourth package.

I've own several pairs of men's jeans because 95% of the women's pants in SL are low rise and think having a bare midriff all the time is stupid.

I have used short female hair. .....
And I have worn some men's short hair styles.

There's something very compelling about a woman in a man's shirt. It seems to imply a steamy story line of some sort.
From: Kelli May
...Does anyone sell men's shirts that look like a shirt when worn? I agree with Weston, but I've never seen a way of getting the effect right in SL (IMO, for best effect the shirt should be slightly too large, slightly too long and worn with very little else).
Blaze makes one called Boyfriend Buttondown. It like it - it does seem to look pretty good.

The top maybe. The bottom looks fairly unisex.

Interesting replies. I personally focus on how the clothing looks than who it says it was made for. Especially if it's really well made or on sale. If it's transferable then all the better as I can drop it on a male alt if I don't like it.
