From: Ian Nider I think you can leave a will, I'd do that, I have a heap of awesome textures I've bought just recently, someone should have them.. I could just up and leave pretty easy though as much as I love it all. I have that will thingy - really must look at it more closely.

From: LittleMe Jewell I have that will thingy - really must look at it more closely. I made a will thingy too for sl. And, I know everyone groans, but I also have one made up for real. Everyone should have one. Even if you dont think its necessary. And establish protocols for closure of credit card accounts etc. Its really important for investments and real property and possessions.

I would set up my social network (LinkedIn, Twitter, FaceBook, etc.) and make sure I have everyone's 'handle' on those sites before I darted.

From: Jig Chippewa Time for some advice from people. How would you leave SL? Would you settle your affairs and be decently slow about it all? Or would you leave suddenly, in a kind of "Mayerling" way, fast and impetuously? suddenly. just walk away.

From: Jig Chippewa Just how old of a soldier are you? Now I am in a different part of world I miss my seagull that I feed - will he be all right until December? I'm nearly 3 now and I expect your seagull will starve because he became dependent on you for food.

Considering that I won't be leaving until they close the doors, it would be sudden. Since they would try to close the doors, I would shoot them, and then I would have no internet access in jail.

Reading these replies reminded me of a fav Niel Young song:
"My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue)"
My my, hey hey Rock and roll is here to stay It's better to burn out Than to fade away My my, hey hey.
Out of the blue and into the black They give you this, but you pay for that And once you're gone, you can never come back When you're out of the blue and into the black.
The king is gone but he's not forgotten This is the story of a Johnny Rotten It's better to burn out than it is to rust The king is gone but he's not forgotten.
Hey hey, my my Rock and roll can never die There's more to the picture Than meets the eye. Hey hey, my my.
n-young
Now replace 'Rock and Roll' with 'second life'.

From: Deira Llanfair I'm nearly 3 now and I expect your seagull will starve because he became dependent on you for food. Really? Coz he lives on my beach and just comes up when I shout "Gully!" which is his name. Otherwise he spends his time cruising with a Black Back gull that has migrated this year to a rock off my part of the shore. Or are you joking me?

If he comes when you call he is practically domesticated! We shall have to hope that his Black Back friend can show him how to catch fish - or at least let him have some left overs!

We shall have to hope that his Black Back friend can show him how to catch fish - or at least let him have some left overs! Okay, I am serious - you are teasing, right? Coz I am now well over 3000 miles away from that beach and I am worried about him. My Mum has instructions to feed him when she goes up to my place and I have left a couple of legs of lamb for him and some other meats that he enjoys. I am quite serious. The poor little guy doesnt really like fish so much BUT he enjoys cod and haddock in limited quantities. I have this sad image of him on my roof, siting in one of the chimneys to keep cool and waiting for me to come home. If he could only read, I would send him an email or call him on his mobile. I know that sounds eccentric but its what I am like.

"This is the way the world ends, Not with a bang but a whimper." - T.S. Elliot
And this pretty much sums up how I would leave. I might tell my closest friends, but other than that I would leave without a trace.

Most likely, I would find some new shiny thing that takes up all my time, and just forget to log in on SL. It's actually a miracle I haven't done that already.
