Not yet, but think I'll gallop over and see what they have. (And check the door heights at the same time).

I spent the morning at the Expo and had a wonderful time. I basically made it through 1 sim, but explored that one sim fairly well.

Met Cristalle in world and viewed her amazing prefabs! That alone was worth the trip as I had no idea Cristalle built such a variety of prefabs - several of which I want...when I have sufficient land again. ;) While chatting with Cristalle, met someone from PrimPerfect magazine and had another nice chat.

Checked out Prawny's exhibit and picked up two lounge chairs I needed for our 7 Seas Fishing spot. (Had been using chairs that were 9 prims each - Prawny's are 3-prim - so a great prim savings which, in a 512 plot, is huge.

Continued next door to Marcel's store and clicked on some of the cool color change furniture, then mosied over to Desiree's store. I LOVE her products. I mentioned in a post awhile back that when I was brand new to SL, I purchased one of her canopy beds. I LOVE canopy beds. The bathroom set is gorgeous - particular like the curtains around the shower.

Spent some time in Icanus' Fatima exhibit. My love of Victorian/antique furnishings kept me there for quite awhile.

Stopped in a few exhibits that are not by people I know from the forums, but had interesting items. Another nice conversation with one of the designers doing that.

I think I accidentally wandered over a sim boundary and found myself in RH Woodshed (I think is the name) furniture and looked around there. I know I walked through a few more places but not in world to check my notes.

My goal is to make sure and go to all the exhibits by fellow forumites. Tomorrow, another sim!

There was a home expo??? Damn, I wish I had known about that in advance! It'd been nice to see if I could have gotten my builds in on any of the action! :(

I've was there to set up my booth and have a few quick fly overs to see what other people were doing but I haven't gone back for my shopping trip yet. I'll do that later in the week.

I have to say, I was really impressed with the quality and range of the things I saw on display. I am a sucker for landscaping things, and even browsing quickly I saw several trees and flowers I hadn't seen before that are calling my name.

The home expo will be going on all week May 4-10. There's at least 55 exhibits on 4 sims with a classroom offering tool demonstrations and building classes. There's also a full schedule of live music entertainment. Proceeds from sales of certain items go to the Relay for Life to help fight and find a cure for cancer. Please come check it out!

Thanks for popping by and for shopping Czari. Those deckchairs have been one of my more popular items for quite some time :)

I've managed to have a fair old wander round the Expo now, but think I still have more ground to cover. Hopefully I'll get chance to see the rest later on in the week. I love to see what fellow designers are up to and see exhibitions that inspire me to do better :)

I know it's not the same, but just spotted there's 3 small booths overlooking the classroom area in Palladium that are empty. You could always contact Nikki Mathieson to see if you can still put up a display there! The show is on till the 10th.

This is what I am enjoying as well :)

Didn't have as much time yesterday but made it to Nimue's exhibit and picked up an adorable seating mat with various sits and color changes. (I went from a 3-story home, fully furnished, with lots of prims to spare to a 512 plot where I rez furniture as I need it then put it away so I'm having a ball finding pretty, low-prim items.)

Question to the exhibitors - were you given a certain amount of space then had to build the, well building, or was that provided? All the builds are amazing. Nimue, particularly liked the open-air look housing your products.

Hoping to get through at least all the exhibitors from the forums today.

Classes?? /me goes in search of those!

it hasn't been advertised very well. i found out about it day before it opened, and luckily was able to con Amar into letting me share a piece of her space... :p

i have not seen it advertised ANYWHERE inworld, or anywhere else except this forum. not one single mention of it.

but now that you know about it, you better hurry go see. it benefit a worthy charity, and that's worth at least a look. it ends in just a few days... wonder if they can advertise BIG in blogs and LL marketing areas and then extend the expo a whole week.

I am annoyed really that it hasn't had more exposure. Neither exhibitors nor charity are being well served by the lack of exposure. I realize that the coordinators are up to their ears in extremely hard work for which they are more than likely not receiving compensation and that (it is my undestanding) it is a labor of love on their part. That said, I spent some bit of L's on space and additional advertising for very little return in the way of exposure. This aside from charitable contributions, which are not the focus of my comments. The Bay City Flea Market was splashed across the Load page - Places get featured in Showcase- what could have been done differently to get the Expo more noticed? Not blaming but looking for solutions for the following years.

Personally, I mention it to everyone I see, I have sent notices in my own store group and mentioned it to other groups depending on the appropriateness of the moment. I have a sign in my store with an LM giver to the expo -

I know as an exhibitor i have worked my little pixel butt off to get ready for it and i am not the only one- Just venting, but I am not happy at the lack of publicity for the show :(
And yes - I have passed on the suggetions re exposure to the coordinators.

Question to the exhibitors - were you given a certain amount of space then had to build the, well building, or was that provided? All the builds are amazing. Nimue, particularly liked the open-air look housing your products.

We could choose between around 2000 and 4000 m2 of space, if I remember well. 30x60 is by estimate the space I had to build, so the day before the expo I created a custom build for the store. Since I had 650 prims and sell very low prim stuff, I did not have to mind prims and used 218 prims fur a 2 floor building :D

Now I mainly did this for the exposure, and of course it is good to help the charity in this case, I rather sell from the vendor then from the stuff in the store (vendor sales go to the charity). It is a bit of a bummer though that the expo did not get the exposure it deserves, the organization works their butts off, the exhibitors as well, and there is a lack of visitors it seems. Did not make 1 sale yet (though from the vendors I cant see). Now I do not mind that much, as my classified costs the same amount as the plot for the week, and I don't know from either one how many people actually see my name out :) What I do know is that I donated the building for the raffle, so I hope I can make someone happy with it!

I went . . . um. The LM I received said something like "May 5th through 10th" and I think I was there on the 4th.

A few people there, and I was crashing constantly, and lots of lag. I haven't been back.

I went and really enjoyed it. It is SOOO big though. I did not have time to explore everything. I needed some kind of table of contents or something. I did find a list of developers there, but that just gave their name, not what they had.

I never heard of the flea market until it was mentioned in a thread on here after the fact. On the other hand I keep hearing about this home expo.

And it shows :) Just went through your exhibit a few minutes ago. WOW! Your transition from fashion to home accessories is amazing! LOVE the Zen water thingy! And your stained glass is gorgeous. Also went up and checked out 3Ring's area as well. Very cute items. :)

ETA: On the exposure - I agree...the expo should have gotten a LOT more exposure. I'm loving every minute of it and spreading the word.

Thanks, Marcel. :) I'm having fun checking out the ways exhibitors displayed their products as well as the products themselves. So, in addition to displaying wares, exhibitors had to design their area as well. I'm impressed!

The first day I went I was dressed in an extremely low ARC outfit to be ready for the lag. But there wasn't any. I changed into one of my regular outfits and still haven't encountered any lag.

However, I attend during daytime EST hours. Will have to check it out tonight and see if I notice any lag then.

ETA: OK, I'm at the Main Stage area and it's a bit laggy here. Previously I just tp'd into each individual sim or tp'd do a specific exhibit from the main board opposite the stage (very handy).

I did! I had to go back today and have another look though as I hadn't realised it was your stuff, thought Am was branching out, lol.
It was good of Am to let you share her space and you made a good job of it too :)

I have found various states of lag- depending. I posted in the Events here and at the Xstreet forum regarding the show. Have not mentioned it at SLU because I am unsure of their rules on event postings.

Thank you for your kind words Czari :) I am having so much fun with building stuff rather than clothes!

Oh, and Prawny -I was so glad 3 did join me - she finalized our display platform to have it look as great as it does. I am very fortunate to have such a cool Builder Buddy ;)!

I'm not thrilled at all that this did not receive more promotion. Marcel mentioned it in a post but I felt it was too late to get on board. I'm afraid that it's my fault there since I should have asked him about it then.

Since Brenda is not in this thread, it must be your fault indeed ;)
