To newbies of the forums: Posting genuine questions in these forums will get u flamed

I remember being bashed because I didn't understand what I was reading in Knowledge base or decipher things in search
I am not saying that some threads aren't annoying but why add to them if they are so annoying?

probably some quirk of human nature.... in general, not specifically

I got to get a Life and stop spending so much time in forums.....but often its one few places I can talk or interact with anyone but that got to stop too soon.
It getting to point where I am starting to think everyone in human and avatar race act likes people in the forum perhaps I am spending too much time in forum seriously becomes incredibly depressing.

I can only speak for myself here, but I've had every question answered that I've ever posted. But.....I try not to ask questions that I know have already been answered numerous times. As for the "clique" stuf.......OMG! Are we still in high school?

I would fully expect a thread with a straightforward question would be much smaller than one that offers an opinion that is up for debate. That doesn't change the fact that the questions get answered.

I can only vaguely recall a couple of threads that didn't get answered recently. In those I didn't know the answers and can only presume others didn't either. Maybe we should post "I don't know" so people don't feel they are being ignored but that seems just silly.

I really would like to see the posts you speak of that weren't responded to.

Yes, and I do get the impression that Chaos is still a newbie in SL and has taken on a lot in a very short time. He is obviously good at building and texturing, but by his questions has bought an island before he knows the basics of the platform. That is bound to bring a lot of questions.

How many friends do people normally have in their first few months who know all about island owning and building to help you? I know I don't have a huge number now as builders spend too much time building to have a huge social circle.

Haha so true.. I talk to like 4 people regularly... 5 sorry lol....

But I have 4 people who helped me without my asking, and another who I hired to teach me a bit in my fisrt few days.. and I've helped numerous people when I was still using sandboxes and not my own land

Why do you care what other posters say to you? The only one you have to actually listen to is Strife,just put the rest on ignore. IMO I find the armchair moderating to be a bit too much myself. Not sure why people just can't ignore what they don't like.

I see this happening on a lot of different forums, it's not just SL. Ranging from gaming, cars, graphic design, dog forums, etc.

Over the years I've seen a lot of it, all I can say is welcome to the life on the internet. Where people will say anything that comes to mind and be as rude/crude when they don't have to face you to say it.

I guess I am different, I don't say anything here that I would not say to someone face to face.

Yes it does. If it bothers you really badly though, it's a good idea to take some time out, just to get some perspective. I had a couple of lines in my signature for a very long time until a few months back. "It's only a forum. No one dies." They're good words to remember.

Thanks Brenda, I removed Dagon cause we haven't been going out much. I probably been isolating too much which adds sometimes to feeling bad sometimes.
Sally I searched for you flicker page and I saw the build you mentioned.
I am bit cranky about it because all those black windows are suppose to have animated texture layers of different scenes....but not sure if that going to work.
The 3rd life city maybe moved above the sewers next to my golden arches and someday hopefully have little freebie shops, possibly tiny art gallary and bank that are interactive and possible 1950's tiny drive in to view different things...but its like there lot to do, not always the energy or know how. I never got around to texturing tiny construction worker's beer and lunch pail or the monoroail or the tiny slot machines. But there so tiny if you don't zoom in you can't see the workers, etc.
Best of the buildings and scripts my friends did.
Not all textures I did either. I sort want to do all orignal textures. It may take months. I need to also figure out how to redesign tiny realistic mountain scapes.
I am very overwhelmed and haven't done much on it for few months.
We all have projects and things I guess we do we wanted noticed including OP.
Sometimes we don't always make the right attempts to be noticed.
I know I get bit cranky about this sometimes. I don't know about anyone else.
