Thats funny because I have two friends on Basic accounts and they cannot access the forums. Of course they have no payment info on file so that might be a qualifier. Who knows.

I gotten flamed for asking too many questions too a year ago. It just way it is.
Some people can do almost anything and no one bats a eye while others it totally different story.
Yet some of you are obviously bored and don't seem to be bothered by feeding what you consider a "Troll"
Perhaps People aren't as well intentioned and helpful Chaos and perhaps you should just not bother any more?
Sad but true no one cares unless they can make joke out of something you're doing here or spout opinions.
Resident Answers isn't always about helping each others, It just Resident Opinions and Pie threads these days.

I have noticed that most web forums that 'claim' to help are usually full of elitist that produce more static that information. I tend to not post much, read what I want/need and ignore the BS. That is the best way to deal with them. Most children will get bored and move onto another thing to do if you ignore the long enough, elitists in web forums are much the same way.

I am constantly amazed when anyone claims that these forums are not helpful. Do a careful study of all the threads that ask questions and you will rarely see one that has not been legitimately answered. Save yourself time and look through my recent posts and you will see one where I did exactly that and posted the results.

Yes there is lots of joking, lots of fun and silliness but business does get done. If you think Chaos is being treated unfairly I would say that in some ways today he has been. But take a look at his past posts and you will see why. It takes awhile to shed a reputation, but that is something someone has to accept as their own fault.

I also tend to glaze over when it comes to the clique finger pointing also. Just yesterday another poster on this forum and I were accused of being in the same clique. I have never met this poster and 99% of the time I disagree with them. Not just disagree but extremely disagree. Yet, the one time I back them up and suddenly we're a clique. It really is laughable.

Agreed. I'm getting tired of that nonsense too. Some people just have an excluded martyr complex or something. All you have to do is jump in. you might take a few hits, but we all were new. Some people thrive on being miserable contrairians I guess. *shrugs*

Hey! I thought I was. Not fair!!

I never said they weren't helpful but come on there are very polite non spamming threads often that ignored where the person needs help with something.
Example. often if seems if I said it was blue someone argue or poke fun how I spelled or say something witty but slightly vicious about Blue.
Another group would say how tired they are about the subject blue and go on thread after after thread about how tired they are hearing about "Blue" meanwhile Joe schmo got problem that he can't find in search or knowledge basis he might get one reply but you will get pages after pages of people's objecting the topic Blue or making pie out of Blue.
There nothing wrong with chatting, correcting, having fun or even be downright self righteous towards others with witty but slightly poking fun of the person or those "people" if this is how you seek your amusement but it doesn't add to friendliness of the forum or our world.
Just let admit it it's easier to complain, be superior to others, whine about how someone isn't doing something or someone else is to blame then focus on creating world that is interesting, unique, creative friendly and helpful and get over it and continue with our mindless shopping, sex and acts of superiority as residents who aren't stuck in reality in virtual hamster cages.

FD, will you please provide links to threads in Resident Answers where people who asked legit questions were not helped, if the answer was something that a resident would reasonably be expected to know?

I haven't seen any. But I may have missed them.

They are always answered that I've seen.... then the fun starts after the answer is given ^^

I know personally I have asked several questions in texture forums and here that were never even responded to in last year.
I am not going to search for every but the point is there will be numerous threads on how something should be happen, opinion threads, how someone is being done wrong, how linden labs has once again screwed up, page after page about threads that everyone says shouldn't be threads in just recent month but look at the size of the threads where people are asking legitimate questions in just last week.
look at size of response.
Then compare to size of response for threads about how someone is doing something or posting annoying threads.
Oh just this week someone asked something got lot of flippant answers I don't remember exactly the thread but it was legitimate question in my book. Which also happens often.

Thats a bit different.. unanswered isnt the same as unhelpful bashing and flaming...

But unanswered is also annoying...
