All my friends and family take me seriously... which is how I like it.
They don't, however, take SL that way... which is something I don't care to take the time to try to change.



I've been threatened with such an intervention at times.. makes me laugh and I know for sure my reaction would be the same as yours.



OMG yes, that is sooo sweet

I *used* to work for a RL company that has a pretty big presence in SL so I was able to convince my manager that I should be our department's liaison to the development groups working in SL. Unfortunately, I was the victim of a mass resource re-allocation earlier this year so that squeeky-clean AV has pretty much been abandoned.

As for right now, none of my friends or family really know about SL or that I even spend much time there. Likewise, except for what I just divulged in the paragraph above, none of my SL friends really know that I have a RL or what I do there. So there's no discussion positive or negative on either side of the cyber-divide.

I solved the problem of RL friends laughing at me by getting rid of all RL friends. I am now also considering getting rid of the RL family that complains about SL.

As to your last statement -- you are making an invalid assumption -- RL is way over rated, SL is where it is all at and what it is all about.

None of my offline friends or my family have scoffed when they see my dance videos, and see the huge emotional lift I get when I show them and discuss secondlife. My family knew me when I used to be able to dance, and have endured my frustration over the decades of not being able to do so any more. Only a few of my offline friends are privvy to the *other* more steamy activities available in secondlife.

BTW -- Given your attitude shown by your posts, why are you here in SL? If you truly believe what you post, then you are a hypocrite for being here. If you do not, then you are nothing but a troll.

My friend knows about me in SL, and she thinks it is cute, but something she is interested in. I even have a digital photo display on my desk showing pictures from SL (and her ultra cute daughter), but so far my coworkers are too scared to say anything about it.
