hmm - ok before i change outfits.. anyone got any suggestions- (yes I know...I am being picky but u never know- just like the Nudists Against Our Will Group- it could pickup momentum...) I am a black and white avi in 1940's ball gown\... i can change into other appropriate gear.. and of course can change all together.. but - any interest in a black and white party? |

I know a bunch of people who used to say that and are not pretty good. Not "selling stuff and buying an island with the profit" good but good enough to be able to play. Check out (search places) the Ivory Tower - they have nice self-paced tutorials on how to get going with buildy stuff. You might surprise yourself. edit: and, before you ask what to build, build whatever pops into your mind. Really. |

I just go dance at the Hangout. Even if nobody is there when I arrive, people usually show up and I have folks to talk to.

My wife so claimed she could not build when I met her, now she has at least one design of house I am working on a door for... Oh and I am working on a nice big power Catamaran for us. A shame physical limits are still 32 Prim. I hope they increase this eventually. Otherwise I go flying, exploring aimlessly, or just pace back and forth... And no I am not joking about the last one. |

When I'm really really REALLY bored...
I go where I can build. I rez a sphere. Make it HUGE!!! Now Sit on it. Go back into Edit & change the Z Position to around 600m or more. Check "Physical" and "Temporary". Leave Edit mode & go into MouseLook. Enjoy the ride!! Works best if you can smack into a skybox on the way down. _____________________

Go to Help Island Public. Fly in circles at the hub. Fly under one walkway spoke and over the next. Get at least ten people to race with you doing that as your race course.
Ice skating is nice. There is at least one racetrack that had tolerable performance pre-hovok4. I don't know what it's like since havok4 and I don't recall the name but someone can probably figure it out if I can't . In our libraries there's a Kart. It's fun to drive although it needs a bit of tweaking. You could talk some noobs at a welcome area or help island to into racing with you. Teach noobs stuff. That'll keep you busy for a few years. _____________________

I'll look in the Events tab in the different categories to see what is going on right then. This is how I discovered treasure hunts, it is a lot of fun. I also like to check out the Support/Charities listings, I've found some really cool places to go to that way.
I'll use the Search window and put in random key words. You never know what fantastic places you'll discover. That's how I found the replica of the ST: Deep Space 9 space station. I've looked in the Education category too. There are still so many classes I want to take and I've yet to have a class where the instructor wasn't good. Take a speed build class and that will be challenging for anyone. I know the Dreams class area has regular speed build sessions. Or do some spring cleaning in your inventory, heh. |

Bored out of your skull? Get into a different one. Buy one of the weird avs from Yeti or Grendel's and wander SL as something else. Go hang out with some tinies or kids and act your shoe size, not your age. Dance. Search events for educational or cultural activities. Play banline trampolining. Find a newbie and say hi. Copy a freebie flight script into an inappropriate object and crash into a few skyboxes (empty ones, for preference). Always wear sunscreen.

I had not thought of the education thing... thanks for that idea- I will look into the classes - that would solve boredom and "I can't build". Actually I have built a few things and they weren't too terrible - I made a rather nice medieval chair and a really cool teahouse . Stuff to do when you are alone... - eek Well Amaranthim you could always take a look around that other world that is reputed to exist outside the keyboard. It's a world where your avatar get dangly bits (in most cases), similar to flexable prims, Sim crashes and lag do not usually occur, but your avatar can get damaged if you are not careful (a bit like World of Warcraft). This world is rumoured to have both advantages over and drawbacks vis-à-vis SL, for example, sex is supposed to be much better, but you cannot fly. Building, constructing, and landscaping is possible I understand but like SL there are rules you have to follow Take a look and report back to us all, I am sure other folk might be interested in feedback Regards John |
