The plan will be a cruise around the coastline of the southern end of the original mainland - the snowy bit where Chalet Linden is - unless anyone has any specific requests. We will cruise at a height of approximately 701m to avoid banlines and reduce lag. Refreshments will be served during the flight. Flight time is expected to be as long as people can be bothered sticking around, since I don't have to go to work on Sunday. Brenda, I hope this is okay for the Sunday meeting - I've kind of just assumed it would be  If anyone has a landmark to Dog Fight atoll please send it to Jonathon Darcy inworld. Search is broken, and I forgot to take a landmark last night. I am keen to acquire an airship without delay and have chosen which one I want. Count me in! Mandy C

Mandy C Am working on finding a place to cruise. Currently, most of the regions around the south end of the main continent (the snowy bit by Chalet Linden) don't allow rezzing objects, and many of them don't allow scripts to run. Since the maximum draw distance seems to be 512m too, we need to cruise below this level for it to be worthwhile. Chris and Brenda, if you have any plans for the Cartel to have a logo, let me have a copy of the texture if you ever make one so I can put it on the advertising panels of the airship. It's a lot of fun to fly, more fun than I've had in a long time in SL.

I propose that the next meeting of the Forum Cartel be held aboard whichever airship I end up buying Perfect Conan..would love it..will you bring your AKK? |

Unless people can come up with something better.
The one I have chosen, if search ever comes back so I can go to Dog Fight atoll to get it, has panels on the side that can hold advertising messages. I thought I might just write something like "HA HA you're all the way down there and we're all the way up here" on it or something like that.
Suggestions for a name please Forumites!! Hmmmm, if there are a lot of people, I can buy one too for the overflow and call it the Single Entendre. |

How about Ava's place in Nautilaus? Or the mainland sims near me are great for flying-there are open water sims there too.

As for passengers - I can carry 9 plus me in the Double Entendre. There is another airship that looks just like a floating riverboat that was a bit more than I wanted to spend today but might get later. It can carry 15 passengers and if i get it I can add a few more poseballs (it is mod) so that it can carry many many more if need be. I think the one I have should be sufficient.

You are Mr. Jonathan D'Arcy (*light bulb goes on, slowly*) Sorry about crashing into the shop when trying to take off. I noticed you didn't hop on any of my aircraft after that  The riverboat was a wonderful job of scripting: it's a non-physical vehicle but is so much smoother than most of those I've seen. And as such, you ought be able to slap dance balls/pose balls all over it. Lovely flying about with all of you  |

How about Ava's place in Nautilaus? Or the mainland sims near me are great for flying-there are open water sims there too. My place is only 1024 with 120-130 prims free. Even if the airship is small enough to rez there, the adjoining Linden ocean sims are all no-script. Still, Conan, go try it out (if the ship is small enough). There is a platform about 30-50 m up for rezzing aircraft. Even though the oceans are no-script, most of my speedboats work just fine on them. The only thing I've found that does NOT work is changing floating text... the menus all come up and do what they are supposed to aside from that, so maybe your airship will work well too. (My place is called Nautilus Harbor and is in the SW - 0,0 - corner of Salerio.) I have some other larger parcels, but they would only be suitable if you're planning on staying still and not moving around. If that's the plan, though, I have a nice 4096 at the southern end of the big lake in the southeastern part of southern continent. I don't have build turned on there at the mo, but I can turn it on if you're interested. |

There's also the ocean underneath Caledon SteamSkyCity. And Caledon is very flying friendly--no ban lines, the sims are all on one server, so crossings are fairly easy, and most people try to keep enough free prims about for the odd vehicle. Sir Edward Pearse actually made a map with the odd full parcels marked in red.
