People who use "U" and "R" as words piss me off.

You'll HATE SL Answers. The whole thing is like a broken forum with a scoreboard. (^_^)y

That scoring BS is one of the major reasons why I won't go there.

Bugs that think! Frankly I find the idea of a brain bug offensive!

But do they provide a particle effect? (I make no comment on the quality of their animation.)

Yep...

I bought it, not for that, and found some curious menu options in there.

I only assume the male version has the same options.

Has anyone seem my 10' pole? I may have left it in a locked thread...

Sadly, too often true.

I find lots of things offensive, but I won't bother listing them because there's no point in inflicting my personal prejudices -- which I KNOW to be prejudices -- on everyone else.

It's an interesting question, but ultimately one that doesn't get us very far, because what is "offensive" is too subjective.

I think we need to move away from the idea of "offensive," and examine behaviours and such not by whether we like them or not, but rather on the basis of the harm that they may or may not do. That can be difficult to determine for sure, but it is at least more objective than this nebulous idea of "offensiveness."
One poster agrees.

Hard to find something that almost everyone would consider offensive. I've not yet come across anyone who thought that urinating on someone was an ok think to do....but, maybe if they were on fire and there was nothing else available? Who knows? Could be a cultural norm somewhere.
Ummmm... There are whole groups of people who find that sort of thing a major sexual stimulant...

I just need to say that I really, really _do_ find that hair twiddling animation most offensive. It makes an avatar look like they have head lice and every time I see it, I start feeling itchy - in a not very nice way.

How about that one where the avatar appears to be doubling over with constipation pains? I swear, every time I see that, I want to offer the poor thing some Ex-Lax!

For the first one who would care to introduce themself to me, I will undertake to make them a free urinating animation, in any position they would like to define and built to fit their chosen avatar shape.

Any takers?

*waiting patiently*

Just IM me - I'll announce the lucky recipient later.

That one is pretty gruesome too - depends a bit on the accompanying sound though - otherwise it just looks like another SL "feature" that has to be lived with.

I agree with this and some of the standing animations (not the model pose ones) that looks like a bad imitation of Top Model poses.

Remember the stretching and yawning animation that was very popular last year.

I find this scoring business broadly offensive - a narrow value judgement.

I already got one in my four-legged akita avatar. Those japanese avatar makers are SO wacky.

I'm getting really tired of the "guy walks dramatically in circles" and "guy wipes poop from his foot" poses myself.

I don't think I know this one, but the one that seems to be randomly making me stick my head up my butt is very annoying! I swear it wasn't part of my AO in the store!

(actually this is like what used to happen in 2007 all over again, is it just me or does this latest upgrade seem like a giant step backward?)

Given the use of this term "broadly offensive" in another thread here I'm curious what others definition of "broadly offensive" might be.
Handy

Boadly offensive in reality is like what you stated. But it's always tuned to the perceiver rather than the communicator. I have been called "highly offensive" in my reality and even "broadly offensive" but, strangely, I have never felt on those occasions that I was being so. It's a question of audience, of course. Offending a crowd of university students at Sussex Uni. who are out for a rave is very difficult indeed. Offending an audience in Fargo, N.Dakota who are into the snowplough season is relatively child's play. It's all subjective and, most importantly, depends upon the "cultural intelligence" and convictions of the audience. I mean, people may simply not understand the point you may be trying to get across. Never underestimate the stupidity of your target audience.

So, SL has decided that as long as people use their world, they must be prepared to follow the tenets of an imaginary Leave It To Beaver "Main Street" for PG. For Mature, look no further than a pleasant modern day sitcom. For Adult, you can go with Robert Mapplethorpe on speed and no one cares.

If you are English this whole system can be completely baffling and out-of-touch with reality. But, hey, SL isnt beamed out of London, or Rome, or Paris. It's beamed out of California, where apparantly it's Sin City (that always wears a very thick and rubbery condom). Ooops! should I have said that?

When can we meet for the anim tailoring?
Can you make it a two-person set? So I can add it to my hugger?

/me rubs his hands in glee seeing that Handy's placed the anim he gave him into his AO.
