i wonder if a private island rated adult works the same way? would people still have to have age verification..it is the rating that stops them or is this just something that only zindra has? Private islands work exactly the same as Zindra with regard to access, only age verified or payment info on file can get to them. |

Interests me, too. I haven't been in SL a huge amount lately because of RL, but I have not seen even ONE notice from LL to inform me that any changes in adult ratings/areas are happening. Not everyone reads blogs, forums and the web site. How is the average person supposed to know that their al fresco sex carpet is in violation of the new rules? How would they know why their alt isn't allowed on certain parcels? Will there be some sort of inworld announcement to explain all this? ya i haven't been in much myself lately.. i think only the viewer is changed right now and i hear it is crap viewer too so i'm not changing to it.. people are saying this zindra is adult but it's just open right now for people to go look at the lands they want to swap for..so until they change the TOS and the COS nothing has changed for me.. i think they are probably gonna do some kind of notice later when zindra opens for real..i'm not sure really hehehe i think lands swaps start in like two week.. _____________________

And I would suppose the land speculators with all their little land buying alts, and not just them, are going to have a field day with this, coming in and buying a parcel for $0 and then turn around and sell it for an absurd amount.

Good lord, people! There is more to SL than ball gags and torture devices! Reading these forums it seems like it's the end of SL if you can't buy a decent dildo at every street corner. Perhaps, if we didn't have to dodge adverts for adult poses at every turn it wouldn't be so embarrassing to admit to having a Second Life. And you think LLs plan is going to change any of that? Think again.. As I've been saying since day-1 of this foolishness, the only thing that will "clean up SL" is LL having the will to enforce their own policies. PG search has been filled with non-PG content for ages. Adding new rules and forcing people to move is not going to fix that. LL has said that avoiding certain words in search descriptions will mean you don't have to go 'adult' - you're not going to see fewer ads for adult content, you're going to see just as many ads but they will have been re-worded. _____________________

I'm sure this post will get some people's panty in a twist but I am utterly dismayed about all those wonderfully designed, explorable and interesting sims disappearing because, in part, people are more interested in making a few pennies or spanking their collective monkeys, preferably both at once. Think that might be happening because of all the money and therefore all the people that are going OUT of SL? Like it or not, those businesses you seem to dislike pour a lot of money into the SL economy. And as we are seeing in RL what goes around comes around. _____________________

If the private island is rated adult then only PIOF, PIU or Aristotle verified can access.
