In Quigley, there is a new (I guess) "dance" "club" called !!AAAHS!! (as in, the Wizard of...) that has so many campers that the region stays full and inaccessible all the time. The region only allows 55 avs at a time, and there are at least that many dance pads at this club. There are no actual people interacting there...nobody on the dance floor, nobody talking. Just people camping (and they may all be bots, for all I know.) I can only look across from the adjoining region to see this, because it is right on the border. I have IMd the owner of the club several times (and have received no reply.) I submitted an AR on Friday, and received an automated reply from the Lindens, but no action has been taken. Surely I am not the only person who is enraged about this. Is this something I can expect the Lindens to take action on (since it is clearly a violation of the TOS...I checked before I did the AR)...or can I just forget ever going into Quigley again?
And somebody else help me out here....what is the point of having a club that nobody can get into except campers?
And how can I determine the owner of a region if I can't get in?

Hi Naz,
If the region is mainland, which it sounds like, you can right-click on the land from the adjacent region and find out who owns the land.
Good luck

From: Oryx Tempel What's in Quigley? In addition to this camping monstrosity, which is ostensibly an all-men's place, there is also a an older all-women's club of some sort with a different owner. Maybe this is some kind of dispute between those two? Oh, and also some place that sells hentai videos.

Okies.....
Having a look there right now.......
Land is obviously owned by the owner of the club.
They don't look like bots to me at all actually. Plenty of slightly older AVS with complete profiles etc.
Only people dancing are those on the dance pads.
There's signs everywhere inviting people to advertise there.
Kind of a weird but interesting structure actually.
But region is full, so if someone does have their home there, they have a problem.

Map - Enter "Quigley" in region - Search Mainland, with 53 avatars as I type. All but 2 of them clustered in the top right of the sim. A 4096 for sale there Gotta see that! L$700,000 for 4096m in a nice quiet neighbourhood It has a boundary on a bunch of Linden water sims. But, L$170/m? Hilarious!

Then the L$ 320/m I saw recently must be 'I laughed so much I p*ssed myself' funny. Someone's having a laugh, anyway.

And how can I determine the owner of a region if I can't get in? In the old days casinos used to have mega camping, for say 12 hours, to skyrocket the traffic, then they would shut them down for 12 hours and run their business... one reason maybe for the campers but no customers.... If your home is on a neighbouring sim you will get lagged by the presence of those avatars (they are child agents), so I feel for you. You could of course move to a private island where camping is controlled or not allowed.

Now its 24 hour camping at popular places...there's is absolutely nothing there now.

This is not true! Unless your sims are sharing a server, you could be next door to a nightmare nightclub and feel no effect if you're on a different sim and a different server.

Really? Okay - I thought if you could see the avatars, i.e. they were within your draw distance, they would be child agents and would drain client side resource and cause the person viewing to have some lag. (i.e. when I said "lag the sim", that was from the client side perspective - but I get your point - it would not actually lag the sim itself)

Something has changed....there are considerably fewer campers there now, and I can get in to Quigley (to the all-women's club).
It's been going on for several days before today.
I hope this is a permanent resolution.

/me waves at Sally Saw that and some very odd abuse reports, such as setting fire to objects and attacking avatars with a baseball bat. Can you set fire to objects? Also, someone was warned for swearing at others in a PG region. Are you allowed to swear at people in Mature regions?

From: Chas Connolly This is not true! Unless your sims are sharing a server, you could be next door to a nightmare nightclub and feel no effect if you're on a different sim and a different server. Child agents do consume resources on/add to the load of a sim they're not "physically" on. If you have neighbouring sims A and B and you're standing in the middle of A, looking out onto B (with say a 256m draw distance) where someone just rezzed a house on the edge closest to A, then sim B has to dedicate resources to send you the object updates even though you're not actually on that sim. If your draw distance was 128m, you wouldn't be able to see past A and wouldn't be a child agent of B, and B would have less to worry about. It might not contribute lag in a noticable sense, but 40+ child agents in a neighbouring sim will make a difference on a sim that's already struggling

I think the way it goes is: PG: You just can't swear. Period. You could maybe swear way up in a skybox. Mature: You can swear, but it must be consensual Non-consensual swearing at J.R.Random is harrassment of J.R.Random and is ARable in either PG or Mature. Overhearing J.R Random being *consensually* sworn at in a Mature area would not be a basis for ARing the swearer. It would be ARable in a PG area. That would be *the theory* Good luck with that Something tells me that ARable swearing would not get much attention from LL abuse desk unless it was particularly offensive in the context and reported by a number of people.

Seems the ARs were acted on. I'm happy. I wonder if there is any way to find out how many ARs were submitted? I can't believe just one was enough. Thanks for all your insight, Sally.
