Morning Guys,

I need your help please. I was at a charity auction last night and won a one hour date with a guy that I have known for some time. I have voiced with him occasionally, chatted lots, know hes married (well, almost.. wedding is soon), have meet with her and were good friends, basically, were just really really good friends.

Anyways, I'm not on SL for romance and have never been on a SL date before. I usually hang out in groups so this is more one-on-one. What I need from you guys are a list of places we can go to that would be a) fun b) light (as in not romantic) c) stuff to do to make up for the slow periods d) Memorable.

Remember, this is a one hour date so I really need more than just a LM but a description of what to do. So, as an example, I was thinking amusement park with lots of rides, maybe some couple rides? Maybe scuba diving (I can wear my bikini) and lots of stuff to see? Some place with lots of action and things to touch and explore?

OK guys, your turn.... show me the way!

Thanks, JulieAnne

There are some great suggestions in this thread: /327/1c/268282/1.html

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Greenies has lots of "Ooh Factor" - Botanicals at Straylight- though is a shopping thing- is sooo beautiful.

http://slurl.com/secondlife/TheBotanicalGardens/207/30/420/

The Botanical Gardens - I got that from Isablan's siggy- so may be LM to her rentals- but a good jump off spot at least.

Black Swan - any Mer place really- depends of course on what you like to do.

I wholeheartedly second Virtual Starry Night if you enjoy art- the build is amazing, you can walk into some of the paintings.

The Lost Gardens of Apollo - the music is lovely and the scenery fantastic

How about top deck of the SS Galaxy cruise ship?

The two of you could spend the time with ice skating, skeet shooting, and the rock climbing wall. And of course, there is the pool if you just want to chat.

On the lower decks are also several lounges, including a very nice ballroom.

Since almost all of my female acquaintances are steadfastly platonic in their attitude to our relationship (is it me?) I can offer a number of suggestions

Acropolis - balloon ride and underwater sub journey through the reef
5 o'clock Beach - Volcano cave for bathing, shower and meditation
Long Beach - train ride and amusement park
Mont St Michel - fun to explore, just like the real thing

and one that might surprise you

Hard Alley - I *love* playing hide and seek there

Pep (Well - hide and seek can always be spiced up with challenges and forfeits)

Toby's Juke Joint is a great place for fun and dancing, but isn't what I might call a 'romantic' spot. Just a fun place with great music.

Asking here and in the Thread- a long time ago in Lusk's Nest -there was a dance floor. It was a little difficult to get to and i recall it was red... Any clues? I searched all over for it recently and never found it.

Now, why on earth would you suggest Hard Alley when the OP specifically said not looking for romance which I assume means also not looking for random fast sex :p

I would think romance naturally excludes random fast sex - but I may be out of touch with the times. :p

I haven't found anywhere better to play hide and seek, except for maybe that CARP place, but you can't play by your own rules there.

Pep (Can anybody suggest an alternative big complicated place to play hide and seek?)

You mean actual Hide & Seek? Not euphemistically speaking? How does that work?

Hide and seek? How does one do that with a mini-map available?

"Oh gee, wonder if she went into the sewer????"

Still seems like a lot of roleplay as far as I'm concerned.

Who is it that has Boomtown in the forums. Annabelle? (please forgive me for not spelling your name right) It's a destructible environment. Breaking glass, colapsing buildings, just wild fun to shoot the place to bits.

There are lots of ammusement parks out there as well. Just search for roller coaster, bumper cars, amusment parks or any other relative term.

Based on these pictures, I'm giving you a 9.1 - which is a VERY strong start for your first submission (heh - I said "submission";). You are a slut, but in the most positive, sexy way. Congratulations and shame on you!

Well..... we have to remember, according to the media, SL=sex, therefore if they are specifically wanting to exclude romance then wouldn't that be an implicit request for random sex (fast or slow)?
:D

Bizarre Berry's Caves of Lascaux, on Modesta are worth a visit. Use mouselook or you'll get stuck in the narrow bits.

If I'd won a date, I'd want them to do all the hard work of deciding where to go, especially as you know him quite well - he'll know the sort of stuff you like.

In any case, one hour will fly by. 1 hour in sl = about 10 mins normal time, I have found. It might be different if you are on voice.

Randomly recalled that there is a bowling alley in Bay City. Can't think of anything off the top of my head. Never went on a date in SL.

RIGHT!, NO SEX!

and bowling sounds good! Something I would do in RL on a date. And yes, we do voice on occasion. But its a bit awkward. Hard to explain! You know all that "Baby, Honey" stuff we say... well, its easy to type it but I feel awkward saying it. Especially if his girlfriend is around.

Isn't it a bit weird to be going out on a non-romantic "date" to begin with? I would think it would just be another opportunity to catch up and chat with each other. I've done all kinds of non-romantic fun activities with non-love-interests in SL, but I don't think I've ever considered them "dates".

Anwyay, the theme park at prim hearts is pretty nice for a fun, low-key outing.

There are usually lots of little green dots in Hard Alley, and it is difficult to tell what level people are on, since different levels are not necessarily translated by the mini-map as "up" or "down". And they keep changing the layout.

Pep (And it wasn't a serious suggestion . . .)
