Yet another of the many uses for infinite unverified free alt accounts, I suspect the new owner and the old were the same RL person.

Tegg you are right on the mark with this. When we were suddenly notified about the sale, the current sim owner told me don't let my avie age fool you I have been in sl since 2005. Honestly, I didn't know where that came from having been in sl since 2006 I am aware people have more than 1 avie for multiple uses. Plus, one should not make assumptions based on an avie's age. After a few minutes of conversation one can pretty much tell if they are speaking to a newbie or someone that has been in sl for awhile.

I pretty much figured out the current sim owner and the guy we spoke to on Saturday were one in the same. Nevertheless, I sent them a notecard to both of them requesting the rollback. The current owner responded and during the course of the conversation I pretty much concluded I was speaking one in the same person. I asked him for a rollback on the sim so I, Will and our tenant can recover our items. He refused. He went on to be very critical of my choice of not remaining on the sim, that I went with my "man". He met Will first and his approach was very aggressive from the tone of the chat logs. Will balked said no. We already shelled out alot in tier payment to the previous sim owner and yes we did receive a partial refund. This guy immediately demanded 90K paid in lindens. When Will said no, then they asked me what I wanted to do. I said no, I am in agreement with Will.

Will and I SHARED the monthly tier. Will is in a position to pay the whole thing by himself, whereas I'm not. So it would've not matter if I wanted to stay on the sim or not because I could not afford it in RL. No I didn't convey this to him, honestly I felt I shouldn't have too.

What it boils down to now is this guy I believe is acting very resentful and childish by not agreeing to the rollback allowing us to retrieve our items because his sure "thing" fell through. He lied and said LL won't do it. When I pressed him further about this, he admitted well it was your "choice" to with your man so it is my "choice" not to request the rollback. For him to be critical and withhold our things is silly because I decided to side with my "MAN" (yes he actually said that) is utterly ridiculous and mean spirited.

What Elanthius said in post#10 is absolutely correct, except she still is in the land barony business. With respect to her I understand one may have to prune parts of a tree to make sure the parts grow. If she had to sell off some sims to survive then she made the right choice. I just wished she had come to us first. If we could not agreed to a deal, we just would've packed up our items and left. SIMPLE!

I am also in an agreement with Rene on post #15. I'm all for everyone trying to make a profit however, that sim is under a grandfathered tier. Why should we pay class 5 prices for class 4 sim. Yes we loved our sim very much but to what costs. Just like in rl one has to make hard choices and that is what we did. Yes, we could've stayed but after our initial contact with this guy and his very HEAVY HANDED approach, what started out to be a labor of love we believe eventually become very ugly. Oh, I forgot he also said if I changed my mind, that I would have to pay him 100K to get the sim back. The look on my face in RL was that of "blow me".

I'm sorry, I know that was not lady-like but that is exactly how I felt.

If it was me, he wouldn't have to imagine the look on my RL face. I'd've said "go f... yourself sideways with a fork", pulled out my .45, and plugged him just for the joy of seeing him bounce.

Not trying to stir anything but it's a game so that should be known from the get go more or less.

The money is real. And Linden Lab advertises Second Life as a place to do real- not game, but real- business.

Your belongings represent real money spent. As such, keeping them when you have requested their return is not legal. Not sure how enforceable it will be in practical terms, though.

Our agreement was with the original sim owner not the current. We never had an agreement to lease the sim with him so him keeping our stuff does not constitute recovery of what feels we owe him as we never agreed to anything with him.

Other than being pouty because we did not lease the sim from him, he actions resembles a rl landlord holding a tenant's items for compensation for back rent. There is nothing to compensate because we never agreed to lease the sim from him in the first place.
