Is PN retired? I don't know. If they are, well, there will always be others. There will always be someone who wil strive to cause troubles, who enjoys causing other grief. Just like there will always be scammers and con artists looking for the next sucker to fool, or hawkers attempting to "get rich quick" in some illicit way.

In the real world, there have always been rapscallions, and riff-raff, snake-oil salesmen and charlatans. Centuries of laws, social pressures, and so on have not changed that fact. It would only make sense that, in our shared world, we'll see these types remain for as long as there is a Second Life to be had.

The racism you claim, well indeed they are racist, but only because they find it funny. Also some of them believe that the word nigger is just too much of a tabu nowadays, and that needs to be corrected.

The word nigger is so tabu, saying it infront of a black person will get you beat up because they just love to take it out of context. I was in a school where most of the students were african (yes, african, not americans) and a lot of muslims too, and in my country that was rare. But what occured in one classroom changed my whole view on the so called "bad word" was when a teacher, was telling about a book called "The seven little nigger boys" which is an OLD book and it has nothing to do with racism but because the teacher descrbied the title, she got threathened by a muslim in our class (which is just lulz since he's not even black, just brown'ish), he continued to yell his damn lungs out when the teacher continued dispite the monkey like attitude.

Stop cencoring the word nigger, it's not racist if just SAID. The word implies a black african slave, I don't get why black people even use this word since it doesn't mean "black" at all.

Blacks overuse it, whites just don't use it, which feeds ignorance making a simple word bad.

Yes, CERTAIN white people are obsessively upset over the fact that black people who happen to be friends and acquaintances can call each other derrogatory terms freely, and yet white people who are not their friends cannot use the same terms to describe them without a bad reaction.

Here's a few things you need to consider:

1) In high school (I was there not too long ago), people of all colors who are friendly with each other use the relevant word with impunity on each other. Yes, this includes white people saying it around or to their friends who are black. This leads into the fact that

2) Friends are allowed to use derrogatory language around each other, because they know they are friends and it's sometimes funny. I'm good friends, for instance, with a married couple who seem to crack on and name-call each other (fat, ugly, stupid, or more creative variants of these, etc) almost every chance they get. Their marriage is in no danger of failing - they love each other, and that's their inside joke. When joking around, a friend could tell me "I hate you, you effing bastard!", or something even much worse, and I'm OK with it. If somebody I don't know comes up to me and calls me an effing bastard (or something much worse), I will have a problem with that person.

Context is important. Most of the CERTAIN white people before-mentioned usually have no appropriate context by which they can use the word they complain about not being able to use. They're not complaining that they can't use it when joking around with their black friends. Outside of that context, it IS a mean and hurtful thing - just like calling people fat, ugly, or stupid. There's proper times and places for such words, but MOST times and places are not proper. Perhaps you just can't understand that, or won't understand it.

Why are you saying me? I'm talking about the PN. Wth? I'm saying they are using the word nigger simply because it creates so much drama. Most of them are not racist at all, or just don't really care if you're upset.

Unlike the PN, who like to (according to you) "pretend to be things they aren't" for the purpose of getting a rise out of people, I'm most assuredly "being myself" when it comes to speaking my mind about the things which offend me. And unlike those posers, I do care about people's feelings - at least, those people I consider friends. Some of these people are hurt by certain actions or words; it requires no effort on my part to sympathize with them.

Their most recent presence in SL was sometime in January, and I for one hope they are left alone to fade into obscurity.

Not sure if they're part of it, but I encountered a member of 4chan while playing the Zombie Panic mod for Half Life 2.

The admins even said, there's no IP, no name, no way of banning them permanently.

can really get on a persons nerves.The reason that the subject of my OP was the PN, stems from the fact that their numbers, and even "revolving door" recruits were ballooning in a similar way to gangs like the one I came up with: Gangsta Disciples. A lotta our gangs up here in Chicago balloon like that & we have 100s if I include the smaller gangs. To somebody tryna use SL and similar platforms for any purpose other than "LuLz", griefer groups that number over 50 active daily members can be annoyin'.

...especially since "we can't fight back". Let me in the game & hell yeah it's fun, but this ain't a Playstation game, and us normal users ain't runnin around switchin' MAC addresses between logins, makin 8 Alts in advance for "a day of fun", etc. Make retaliation "legal", and it's a rollercoaster of fun for folks like me, and my crew can charge ridiculous fees for "protection" to businesses. But that ain't gonna happen.



Guess I'm too young-at-heart, cause if somebody else is gonna run rampant doin' whatever they want in such an open-ended environment as SL, then I wanna be able ta do it too with no "punishment".

Oh, yes, except for the web site defacement, email hacking, death threats, credit card fraud, wire fraud, child porn and everything else they were doing.

They're still around, but for the most part they spend their time raiding chan boards now. They had two or three scripters that knew what they were doing, but they threw them out because they thought they were spies (and kept the real spies in the group, being unable to tell the difference).

The only reason they're noteworthy at all at this point is because their leader created ShoopedLife and still distributes it. If it wasn't for this one guy, 80% of the griefing probably wouldn't be happening, because the griefers wouldn't be able to stay in SL very long.

DiSSENTion, by the way, is just one guy - one of the few PN who knew how to script. That's why there haven't been many DiSSENTion raids. There is no cadre of DiSSENTion raiders, just one kid.

Afterwards? After everyone looks a bit uncomfortable and maybe glares at you a bit? What do you think is going to happen exactly?
