I enjoyed everyone's place and was quite overwhelmed by them - also at the turn out. A special thanks to Joshooah for organizing the event, and to all who came and participated.

I would comment on each, but I am utterly exhausted now - in a good way. See you all on the other side of dreamland.

Soen- omg - your home just floored me! I love asian themes and that was just incredible.

Thanks for visiting, everyone, and the nice comments. I'm sorry I wasn't able to be there except for a very few minutes - turned out I was not at home in RL today which made it hard to be home in SL. :) I hope to get a chance to stop by some of your houses another time.

Took the tour tonight - there are some places that I was too late to see but that is okay.

The tour was a lot of fun. Some people have great locations and/or builds. Wow! And everyone's place was interesting and/or unique.

Weston is an amazing artist btw...

thanks everyone for letting me see your homes! And thanks again Joshooah for the in-person tour. Amazzzzing treehouse!!

You most certainly can! Come on over any time. I most likely will not be there - I am not on during weekends usually - but no matter! There is a lot to see, do, and explore there.

The cabin itself is tiny but you can easily cam in and look around (or cam in and sit, I don't care). Then I encourage anyone stopping by, to go down the little hill, to the left, and keep going til you hit the campgrounds. It's a nice little sim and it's a community feeling there, so no one will mind your exploring. Most of it's meant to be 'shared' among everyone. (Only the little cabins themselves are 'private.')

I hope everyone reading this will visit, if they want. In fact I just went out and got some snacks and stuff, it's on a table on the porch. (By the way I made that table and it's copyable.) Help yourself to some treats (non humans should like it too - only thing I didn't get was Tru Blood. Sorry!)

The SLurl is upthread, non group members can come on by too.

Thanks so much to those who made it out to the ranch! Do feel free to drop by on Sunday, even if neither of us is around to give you an elephant ride :) After that we may turn the bees back on ...

We particularly like to sit in the garden, but you're welcome to go inside the house (the round disks by the doors take you up to the 2nd floor) and do whatever you like. And yes, do go over by the bunkhouses and take the tow line up to the skybox, which is a party space, not our private home.

And thank you VERY much, everyone, for sharing your homes! We got some great ideas from your builds and the beautiful and fun decorating and toys. I didn't make it to all of them, but here's a few impressions:

Blot, your house was a hazard because it lured me to go down to your texture store ... and I took a LM for more visits there! Hey, I couldn't find the texture for the great stairs up to your place, is it in your store?

Josh, CUTECUTECUTE. Oh, and I liked your house, too. :)

Whimsycallie - what a fabulous fun place! Your name is suddenly so appropriate! That bear and the blocks ... ROFL! I knew we were in for fun when we came on the purple unicorns and their barn ...

Weston, I would love to live in your skybox for real. Those wonderful huge plate glass windows, such nice proportions to the building's overall design! and your big plants ... I'm glad neither of them said "Feed me!"

Rock, your wonderful build inspired me to change into silks, so I guess it "works"!

Wow, what a wonderful day I had yesterday. It was interesting to see everyone's different styles and/or dreams put into their builds. Each place was exceptional in its own way. Josh, you came up with a wonderful idea, thanks for taking the time and effort in putting it all together.
I took LOTS of pics, over 200, lol. But I weeded them down to something manageable and will post them to the forum cartel pool as soon as I'm done with this reply.

Jackie - Loved the view, absolutely breathtaking, the flamingo was quite adorable below too.
Carter - Quite an exceptional hangout you have there...the garden was absolutely serene with the sunbeams.
Gabriele - OMG, I had the most fun at your place, trying everything out, lol. You did a great job. btw, loved your shower door.
Josh - Your treehouse was too much, very cool. Loved the pool with Jaws included and the doghouse with its own garden lights made me lol.
Seven - Thanks for the parachute, it came in handy on the way down. Beautiful view and loved the bedroom. You're doing a great job on the skybox, too.
Brenda - Checked out the Huey, it's great!!!
Blot - You have the most awesome coastline, must be enjoyable to look at each day. The steps had me huffing & puffing for a while, but a beautiful build.
Soen - Wow, what can I say? I can tell the amount of time and effort you have put into the build...it is just wonderful...enjoyed the little touches of authenticity you added.
Weston - Loved your geek pad...very, very comfortable. As you can probably tell from the pics, I made myself at home, lol. The choice of water outside with the treats was a cute touch. Your artwork is amazing, must be satisfying to see it up and in view.
LeeLee - WOW, absolutely stunning. LOVED the dining room, lol. All I can say is beautiful, just beautiful and grand.
Nic - I love your weird garden, lol. Made me feel young at heart again. Got a little sick on the merry-go-round, but all-in-all, great fun. I loved your cat painting.
Lelia - Your house is beatifully furnished, I most enjoyed your lovely bedroom and the artwork. As I said in the pic...super, super cute nursery...really adorable.
Rock - The Egyption theme is spectacular. Great build and textures. You did a wonderful job with the place.
Litta & Cee - Magnificent place...You two must feel so lucky to have all that beauty about. Really felt like a working ranch.
Whimsy - It looks like something out of a fairy tale. Absolutely magical. I had so much fun, thanks for opening it up to us.
Ghosty & Elora - Sorry for my being 'busy' for so long, I was called into RL for quite a while:( It was lovely meeting Ghosty for the first time and see Elora again. Ghosty, your garden, sculptures, artwork are one of a kind. I saw a few things I liked. You are a very talented individual. Loved the entrance I made, lol.
Allegria & CX - Your home is lovely...LOVED the aquarium, quite the focal point. Took a stroll through your gardens, enjoyed the slide and toured Bourbon Street. Met Allegria for the first time--thank you for being so gracious.
Victor - Your time station is so cool, especially the monkish type characters...very neat. Loved being transmatted too.
Sarkany - It must be fun living in a castle and having all your subjects below. Wonderful view up there. Salem was so sweet, lol.
Bodhi - Your gardens were serene also. Beautiful place with the gated walls...I liked how you documented the build through the time spans and the pics of how it changed...nice. Was quite amused when I was meditating, the two visitors I received, lol. Check out the pics.
Melita - Groovy place...I loved it!!! Wonderful colors all around and the view from your front porch is TDF. Really pleasant sim.
Amara - Your place is so cool...I absolutely felt so decadent laying on that one lounger, lol.

Thanks so much for posting pictures on the flickr cartel stream Ashe! I was too busy running around and preparing, along with my crap graphics card, I never really had a chance to take pics ... so much appreciated.

Glad folks had fun! I was never really sure how it would go or how many volunteers would respond but it was a great response so thanks again to them. Next time though, I think I will make it at least 2 days as it can often be so hard to work around time zones and rl commitments. Might be fun to do another one around holiday time.

FYI to others reading, the event was just for Saturday and I wanted to make sure that the privacy of volunteers' homes was respected so the notecard giver with schedules/locations at the hangout is gone. However, I'm sure if you IM folks first, most wouldn't mind letting you take a look around. There were some folks that explicited stated their land or portions of it were available to the public 24/7 so read the notecard carefully (notecard still is available in the forum hangout cartel group history).

Sure, come on by.

Anyone is welcome at ground level anytime, though now that the tour is over it may change without warning. I've considered a Christmas in July theme, but who knows if I'll get around to it.

If you want to check out the skybox, it would be nice if you could land at ground level and check the map - if it's empty, come on up; if someone's there you may want to IM first or wait a bit in case it's a member of my group changing. (Of course, chances are it's someone else doing the Homes Tour... lol)

Folks are free to drop by my treehouse today so I'll leave it open on Sunday as well.

And yes, Marianne it would be great if you could participate next time. I'm still tired out from organizing this time so maybe a winter holiday tour might be fun over 2 or 3 days since this turnout was pretty good.

Both my parcels will always be open to the public at all times. The house for the tour was one I used to live in and I re-rezzed it temporarily for the tour. I can leave it up indefinitely until I someday start working on an alien world walk-through diorama. But that may be a long way off. I am also considering putting the house up as a freebie if I can get the perms to work correctly.

Thanks to all who came by and enjoyed it. It gave me the confidence to pursue building some more.

My pics of the event are up at my Flickr site. I took loads of pics at EVERYONE's place, but not all turned out so well. So if you are left out, it is my photo skills and SL acting up causing the pictures to be less than stellar. There are about 32 pictures spread out over a couple of pages. See your place through the eyes of a dog!

Well you're more than welcome to stop by anytime at our Japanese Edo period waterfront mansion, its pretty much open 24/7. It climbs along the hillside and its worth paying attention because there are so many "hidden in plain sight" surprises such as the view from the 2nd landing just below the widow's walk on the roof and the 2nd floor garden and bath.

Send me a picture, I may give you something surprising in return :-)

Thanks for the nice comments. I should have mentioned at the beginning about the 'secrets' of The Anubia Palace. I was only there for a couple of visits, so I could tell people.

For those still visiting:

The symbols on the walls reveal the walls with secrets (Ma'at, Ankh, Djed and Scarab)

You can get from one wing of the palace to the other, by not being afraid of water

Driftwood is not all it seems to be

If you get lost, look for a coconut

Amenthes, the abode of the dead, is not called The Depths for nothing

thank you Joshooah and Ashe1 for the writeups and to Weston for the photograph. Soo cute. I am so glad you felt comfy in the attic up there. :) It is sort of shaped like a doghouse in a way!

So sorry I did not have snacks out in time for your visit, however. I'd have loved a pic of you standing on the table - and there was water, plus, a cold cuts tray. :D

I hope the group does this again and next time I will try to be a better hostess. Lol

I really enjoyed seeing everyone's homes. Quite a variety and it was interesting to see what people chose as their personal places.

Weston your skyhome was very well built. It would fly off the shelves, especially as a freebie, I'm sure.

PS lots of room at the camping sim for anyone who'd like to come and roam around. Including the other canines in the forums if they wish. Swim, eat and water the hedges. Lol
