I make my own cards. It pleases those who complain about how superficial it has all become and how it has all become a big money making thing.... It also has the nice homemade touch to it :)

I just love the whole idea of Valentine's day. Making someone feel special and loved. A whole 24 hours set aside for the one emotion. It just warms my heart :) I have always loved it. ♥♥♥

That is a great way to celebrate! Home made cards and gifts are always the best, then you know someone was actually thinking of YOU! Valentines can be nice, especially when you have someone special to share it with....curl up in front of the fire with a bottle of wine and some nice tunes.....can be wonderful, especially if you make everyday V-Day :D

Good gravy, what's all this talk about lesbians today? Where does that come from? I've yet to be hit on by a woman in SL (well, one, but I'm pretty sure she was a guy... :D )

Jimmy, there are a bazillion ladies looking for dates in SL. If they don't want to talk to you, re-examine how YOU are talking to THEM.

Hint: IMing someone and saying "how are you?" is a really lame opener. Witty and funny does the job. Fishing for a clue whether or not she's into poseballs on the first date isn't going to get you anywhere. Well, unless she's a guy, but I think that's a different thread.

Actually, don't go directly to the IM at all unless you're somewhere very busy or the potential object of your affection is on another sim. EVERY male stranger who's ever IM'd me while standing a short distance away has subsequently propositioned me, so I don't react warmly to those out-of-the-blue IMs. I'm sure other women have had similar experiences, so I'd really suggest that the initial conversation at least takes place in chat...otherwise, she may wonder what it is you're about to say that you don't want other people to know about.

hmmm, well you are welcome at the forum hangout anytime. Usually a great bunch of people there. Not sure if you have ever been or not...
(though between you and me, not sure if you would want any of them as a date... they are all lunatics! Im the only sane one of the bunch!) :p
i have a feeling the hangout is either going to be deadly quiet or super busy tonight...

Maybe look for an event which fits your taste? You may meet people with similar interests - always a good conversation starter.

And JamesMichael, SL is like RL, you run into people you like while doing things that you like to do. Maybe for a kickstart, drop by the inworld Forum Hangout on Saturday, there's a party starting at 3pm SL time, live DJ from 5 to 9.

I hear good things too about the Latte coffeehouse at Mill Pond.

Check out the Groups tab in search for the inworld versions of things you like to do in RL ...
