For some reason, although I am a SciFi fan in RL, I really don't know of any good space or scifi sites in SL!!!

I'm looking for futuristic or space oriented builds: space station, rocket ships, etc.

Any suggestions from you well traveled folk out there?

What about things like Firefly, BSG, or Lexx?

I know there's a Firefly world inspired RP sim, and a couple of people have recreated the Firefly ship itself.

One would think that BSG would be popular enough.

Lexx? Less likely, though would be really neat.

Wonderful..I didn't know about the BSG. You would think I would have checked that as I worked on the TV series.

Thanks to everyone!

I'll have to try and remember to check that one out, I love that show!

I find a lot of the Star Wars ones are quite good, but all the "red-tape" puts me off, all the blasted RP requirements with rarely any concession for someone who just wants to explore and enjoy the scenery.

Nexus Prime: based on the book 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep', and the amazing movie 'Blade Runner.'

It's a huge RP society, with many levels...

any of these places that have a pretty steady population, Lexxi?? I love to explore, yet I find myself getting bored when I find these really neat and fantastical places, and there is never anyone there?

I am Legend and Greenies tied to have a steady stream of people, otherwise pretty empty the ones I have listed.

Galifrey (sp) has a very nicely done large Tardis interior

Star Wars wise there are Telos, Talis, The Binary Star, Little Mos Eisley amongst others

Suffugium is great, as isNexus Prime - always meet interesting people in the bar in the under city

Space Colony Necronom VI is a gorgeous multi-level space station completely built by a friend of mine. It is the center for a lot of dark Sci-Fi RP and has proven quite popular in Adult Sci-Fi circles. Even if you're not into RP or adult play, the place is just plain beautiful, with lots of nooks and crannies; and the building itself tells a kind of story. Worth a visit or more.

Thank You. I wound up there once and couldn't remember the name. I had a great time and have been meaning to go back.

For BATTLESTAR GALACTICA RP on SL, go to a sim called BSG47. It's home to BATTLESTAR PACIFICA, a fulltime RP sim. Trust me, whatever I say, it wont capture the experience so just go there yourself to marvel at it. ;-)

You can play pretty much everything you want including Viper pilot, cylon, politician, reporter, civilian, etc. And yes, we DO have very intense dogfights. But trust me, it's only a tiny part of playing at BSP. Anyone who wants to do RP in the BSG universe, that's the place to go.

End of Commercial break.

Dont forget the alcyon shipyards - the ships have to be seen to be believed... make sure you have a lot of land at your disposal if youre going to buy the bigger vessels though. And I have to concur with the person who mentioned Nexus Prime...

...dont go into the sewer network alone though ;)

Oh and that FIREFLY place where they built an actual FIREFLY class transport is called Washtown. Unfortunately, not a fulltime RP place.

There is a Firefly class transport in the pictures I uploaded in this thread, and that was taken in Cave Rua.
