From: Jig Chippewa Can I have Permission to Shoot Hubbies Heheheing I think Bradley and Raymond are offline so I think I can slip a question in without them knowing I have been here. Can I be given the go-ahead to go on shoot and destroy mission to eradicate the intensely annoying partners who I meet when I am buying skins and hair? You know them; they look like Pork Loin (the brainless pig star - was that his name?) in reruns of the Muppets Show? These "men" are so falsely NICE to their partners. They have a kinda stupid grin on their faces. and they hehehe in huge quantities. Then you have to listen to a perfectly hideous avitar waffle on about her "hubby" and call him a "brat". Those words "hubby" and "brat" make me grind my teeth. They usually have a profile pic of each other with inane grins on their faces. It is like watching muffin-tops in the real world or people who test food out in supermarkets by eating a handful of grapes! Arrrrgh!! How do these musings have more 'soul', as you put it, than other questions? "People have treated SL as a Wendy House when it was meant to be a social and educational experiment of the highest order" (??!!!) Putting down how others behave is not a serious philosophical question. You do not seem that interested in what people have to say, especially if they challenge your view, only what you need to get off your chest. Were you really searching to know if 'killing' annoying partners was okay? Or did you simply want to tell the world about your personal insights. You are not the only one asking these sorts of questions, but you are the only one at the moment posting multiple times a day. People will generally let slide one of these types of questions but are less patient when they see so many on the 1st page. Too much of anything gets tiresome. Yes, all we need to do is NOT read your posts, but imagine a new resident coming on the forums and reading what you wrote while waiting for answers to a question? If no one countered what you said, they would believe the forums to be a somewhat hostile place, no? If you decide to leave, that is your prerogative, but please do not act as if you are blameless. Take some responsibility for your actions. Your apology does not seem sincere to me. You don't need to agree with everything that is being said on this thread, but I hope you are mature enough to learn something today. I know I have.

Another long wretched soliloquy. Again, she is so self important she has to create an entire thread about herself just like the last time she "left". I picture poor "Jig" with the back of her hand against her forehead as she types away the pain. Don't worry everyone. She'll be back. Just like last time. With another lengthy rant about how she almost allowed herself to be a victim and that she will not be chased away. From: Isabeau Imako I hope you are mature enough to learn something today.
Don't count on it. Unfortunately quoting Shakespeare and D.H. Lawrence have absolutely nothing to do with ones maturity.

QFT Those that post about leaving never do. Those that are really going to leave just leave and don't say anything about it.

From: Jackson Rickenbacker I'm not geting this, sounds like a Forum Soap Opera unfolding, Jig, I would think maybe you just need to take some time off of the Forums, sounds like your too involved Yeah... totally agree with this. Seriously, this is not all that important of a place, in the grand scheme of things. I'd only add that I think Jig isn't the only one that might benefit from some time away. And with that... I'm going outside! It's rainy, and the air is all fresh...

1. There is no "s" in the word inane. 2. Nothing like the old "long-winded, brimming with drama exit speech. Sorry, no Oscar for you. It's a shame that these types of people seldom follow through with their threats. Please *do* let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. 3. At the risk of implosion, you should try thinking about someone or something other than yourself just once, or at least pretend to. So that it doesn't appear that I'm *all* vitriol this afternoon, FWIW, I was not offended in the least by the "Do You Dream...." thread, at least the pretense of the original post..... Sorry for the negativity folk but waking up to this thread proably wasn't a great idea....

From: Jig Chippewa it IS too much of a clique and shuns anyone who isn't simpatico with the rest of you.
I guess this is YOUR world and I was the interloper.
Well, to be fair, I really dont intend coming back here. A clique here in these forums? Nawww!!! But give me a second...hmm.. let me think, now where have I heard that before? Oh, wait! It's was me, I posted about this before. Jig, While I do find your constant everyday questions annoying it doesn't really bother me as at times I bypass them and continue on. Their world? You're the interloper? You need some of that thick skin you wrote about having in rl. In these forums you can't let anything that's said bother you, not here, not in sl and certainly not in rl. If you do, you'll spend your time going crazy emotionally. As for you never returning here again, that can only be your decision and no one elses. I think too much is being made about this. But then, you know I love going against the grain just to get under some skins here. It's soooo easy to do.

As I post this, there are three, count 'em, three - Jig Chippewwa threads on page one of Resident Answers. The reason they are there is that people are interested enough to post on them, and keep posting on them.
So maybe sometimes they do (however annoyingly) speak to subjects that at least some of us forum lurkers find at least sorta interesting?
I don't care about them particularly - but gee, that just means I don't keep clicking on them. That way, they don't bug me. Maybe if we remember that a thread doesn't have to be clicked on we can let this tempest in a teapot cool down?

Jig. You do start too many threads. This forum, is not sacrosanct and many people post nonsense threads for fun or irony. Your threads don't bother me, I usually just think you are trying to be funny, although I wonder why you post so many? This one is way too serious and defensive. Your feelings must have been hurt, but you have been a bit of an attention whore. It makes me wonder how you have so much time on your hands? Now you're just making to much drama. Anyway my advice is to stick to humor rather then long personal defensive action---and find some moderation on your frequency of posting your "questions."

The threads in and of themselves are not offensive or trolling, but the cloying, narcissistic nature of these "look at me, listen to me" threads are too much to handle when they come in packs of 5 and 6.
You wrote about why you wonder why you have more fun on the forums than inworld. Maybe it's because in the forum, your threads are more of a train wreck that can't be avoided by many people. Inworld, people can just mute you or tune you out and you're just another avatar in the crowd.
You completely refuse to acknowledge that, for the sake of the forums' existence, you need to moderate yourself a little more. Since Strife left and Aki has ignored the place, we have been mostly on our own. A lighter touch has been in place for a while now, and a little flexibility has served well to make RA a fun and engaging place to be. But everything has limits and you don't seem to acknowledge any. You can't seem to see beyond what it is that you want.
This place is not for you if you can't show us how brilliant you are inside of a thread that has more substantive relevance to SL. But clearly you show no interest in the threads about search, the economy, land, group powers, or the usual topics that get asked about. No, you'd rather ask us inane things like if we have ever had an argument with anyone inside SL. And if you don't get the level of response desired, you will make yet another thread asking where everyone is. Get a grip and show some restraint.
It is a shame that it has come to this, because I'm sure you're an engaging and likeable person. But your selfish tendencies have led to this. Rein it in, and you shouldn't feel like you have to be an outsider.

I don't think I've ever posted in one of Jig's threads (until now), and I certainly don't follow the discussions in them because they are of no interest to me, so this thread came as quite a surprise, and most of the opinions in it came as an even bigger surprise. But even though I've never posted or followed any of her threads, I do think they are generally good, as long as the forum isn't overwhelmed by them, as it has tended to be. They do give people the opportunity to write things that they would like to write, but hadn't thought of writing. E.g. "Do you dream about SL?" People who sometimes have SL in the dreams can enjoy describing it - nice. "Did you ever have an big argument in SL?" Responses: Actually I did, and I'll enjoy writing about it.
It's good stuff for a friendly forum. The only problem that I see with the threads is the quantity/frequency of them. As I said, I haven't read them, so I don't know anything about Jig's nature in them. I'm just looking at the idea of the threads from the outside.

Lot of people write stuff like opinions and other things here, including myself that may be grey or not a part of the Resident Answer questions. A lot of times its easier to use the forums versus a third party forum. Most I have seen are ghost towns in themselves and often hard to use, and then there is another fricking password that may or may not work with certain email accounts like if you use AOL for email address. I lost several passwords and can't retrieve them even on Flicker because of this. I thought Jig was just bored and lonesome because of being snowed in. I found the questions and even jokes lots of fun. I hope Jig's feeling weren't hurt. Sometimes all of us get that way. I know I do and often its easier to talk here. There just some people who always find something to point at and criticize. Personally I figure when they get a mod they will enforce things until then hey lets do what we want here within reason. A majority of us pay or have paid a whole lot to be a Resident. LL can at least grant the kindness of allowing us the forum to communicate and ask questions or talk, and yes even complain about Second Life. Hey Lindens we wouldn't complain if we didn't care. I know I complain and create paranoid theories of what happens in world when I don't have better reason to explain issues I am having in world.

From: Nika Talaj The point you never seem to want to acknowledge is that this IS a product support, not a social discussion, forum ... . Not a pop at you Nika, and I personally am not stainless in this regard - and not in defence of Jig here either ... HOWEVER many people don't seem to appreciate that this is the product support Forum and I'm amazed that LL leave it open to have the small minority of the userbase who post here use it to diss the product. There's an argument to say that there's no control over 3rd party websites but then again the average user wouldn't go there anyway. Jig, that was simply too much postage at the start of this thread. I didn't read it and I read voraciously.
