Chatting places?

Sometimes I will go to a club or a mall thinking I'll find some cool people to chat with,but all I find most of the time is that those twenty little green dots on the map are just campers.Where do the real people hang out in SL? I found a couple of places,but one was not very welcoming to the "newbie".

Yep I have same problem luckly I some how was able to make few friends to hang with and chat.
If you're lonesome I introduce you to my friends. I don't have tons but I am willing to share.

Oh cool thank you! I need friends,lol. I have three but two of them are my RL friends who came to the game because of me. And the third I suspect just wants me to give him some pixel loving.:/ I'm so lonely.obbing: I sit in my house building things or shopping all the time,lol.

I am usually around about 11 pm pdt in sl.
I build or hang out with one of my closest friends discussing life and how to build stuff, mathamatics, programs,etc.
Still totally clueless but sometimes my friends and I come up with something clever.
If you're lonesome look me up. I am bit of loner but I always like talking to new people and having platonic friendships. Not into pixel sex myself except sometimes the animations are funny to look at.

I go to Sanctuary all the time and I LOVE it.The shops there get most of my lindens,lol. But unfortunatley it crashes sometimes and is high on the lag. So I can never stay there for too long to even get into a conversation. I also can't stop dancing once I start there,lol. Even when I go home,I am still dancing till I log out.


Last night I couldn't TP out of there for some reason for about 15 minutes. I spent about 2500L on clothes,lol. I think it was a trick to keep me there,spending.

This has nothing to do with chat,but I don't want to bother people by making another thread.

I just bought my land a few days ago.People I don't know, keep showing up in my house.(TP) I made it so only my friends were welcome there. Now my question is,by doing that am I making those ugly ban lines around my land? And if I am,could I just turn off teleporting? Or would that restrict me from TP as well?

I don't think there is a way to turn off teleporting but you can use banlines to block access of non-friends and allow who you want on access list.
The thing is there are ways to sneak in through banlines if the person really wanted.
The only thing I can think is there are people or bots who still see your property for sell or trying to visit the spot for previous reasons.

Thanks for the info,I don't mind people being in my house,but it's a little unnerving when they just pop up like that. Luckily I have been dressed every time,lol.


Speaking of land,I own a beautiful waterfront 2048m lot. I have since discovered, I don't really need all this land or the extra montly fee.

I'll never get a dime for it,since it was one of those $100 Linden deals on an island and there are still plenty of more available around me. What happens if you abandon land? Are you still obligated to pay the tier? Is it frowned upon in island circles?Will I be blackballed as a bad islander?:/

Better than abandon the land - tell the owner you want to be rid of it. He won't mind putting it back on the market. Once you say you don't want it you should not be charged anymore tier for it.

We don't have campers, but we do have 10 pin bowling. It's free and a lot of fun, everybody is welcome and there is a great beginners competition tomorrow 25/8/07 at 11am SLT with huge cash prizes.

If you have few friends, this is the place to make more. If you have lots of friends this is the place to bring them.

oh , the city is a combo of stuff I build, free stuff I found and stuff I bought, I did not build it all.

I did "plan" it out though, and more stuff to come hehe

I have land which is in competition with a great place for chatting, so even though it's competition I find myself there more often than on my own land. Haven't got all the details as I'm not logged in, but a search for 'Fire Beach' should do it.

If you bought directly from Lindens Lab and abandon your land I assume you will lose whatever you spent on it.
Also if you didn't change the tier in your account page it keep charging you for 2048m2.
Also if you sell land or buy land the maxium tier you used is still valid until new billing period.
I lost lot of money when I sold my land I had in another location so I could move closer to my friends. I guess sometimes something is better then nothing.

It is great! One of the best areas I have seen in SL. Very well thought out !It seriously reminds me of parts of the city I grew up in,lol. I landmarked it,so I can come back again!

I bought it for $100L from an Island owner. My tier is 15$ a month. I do like the land,but I think my husband would kill me if he found out how much it was costing me per month,plus my premium membership.(He doesn't get these kind of things,lol.) Plus I don't need all that land,though I do like the prims!

So now I am looking for a 1024m on the mainland. When my month is almost up, I will just send a message to the Island owner rather than abandon it, like Lias suggested earlier.
