...... At that point, the Second Life they had envisioned has died. And at that point, LL has to move to maximize their returns while they are still able to.... I do hope that nobody in LL would take such a Darwin-denial approach. Anyone who takes a leap of faith, and then has a hissy-fit because the universe does not serve up the exact envisioned result belongs in a museum as an exhibit - particularly if they were unable to recognise how their creation was surviving in the unknown. _____________________

There's just not enough comets. It's a bummer. However, there is hope. 2012 will see the arrival of a ginormous lump of rock that will pass within a few million miles of Earth. e.g. (sort of) http://www.satansrapture.com/nostra2012.htm I think that it is *VERY* disappointing that we will have to wait until 2012 before we are totally screwed. And what the hell happened to Bird Flu anyway? _____________________

Is SL dead or simply misunderstood? I rather like the observation by Pathfinder Linden that new mediums are initially treated like pre-existing ones... internet like print... television like radio... People and corporations will continue to come and go; staying only if they uncover a unique opportunity in SL.
