I managed to win back a piece of my old land at auction. It's very close to my current home. It had been owned by newbie who rezzed an ugly house about 5m above the ground and a wall of ugly plywood panels going up about 50m, then promptly gave up on SL, leaving the mess. Now I've landscaped the site, put in a few trees and got some extra primmage to play with. The downside is that I needed to sell a smaller plot on the sim edge in order to keep tier within my self-imposed limit. Unfortunately it was bought and resold to an ad cutter. But nobody's bought any of the 16m lots yet, so there's hope.

Chilbo region. People being good neighbours and working together. Chilbo gives me hope for the many areas of the mainland that have descended into the pits of anarchic and selfish behaviour.
Woohoo Chilbo! =)

I totally agree! The new lawn made my day. Another place I discovered that made my day was a place totally dedicated to Sonic the Hedgehog. There were even Sonic-type avatars everywhere.
Also, I made TWO new friends last night! That always makes me happy.

Happiest event: Taking possession of my two new sims! I leased the last one we were on and while they were wonderful landlords, I always knew in the back of my mind that it wasn't "mine", and these are!

So that's what happened to my katnip, Crunch! heeee
Great responses everyone. It's actually really interesting to see the varied "things that bring happiness" to everyone.
I'm really happy to get my store almost stocked enough with product that I may feel almost like a real seller of things. ha ha. I even have a Lucky Chair. Go me. And I'm really happy with my latest furniture set which I still need to take piccies of and put in my vendors (and can I say how much HippoVend rocks).
Happy Day/Night everyone!

I rarely go here when I'm inworld, so I rarely can fish through an inventory for a SLURL.
But there's this AWESOME place I visited last night. They sell and rent carnival rides, booths, etc. My friend and I were walking around chugging big sodas and cradling a tray of greasy fries, ogling everything and hamming it up in the tent they have for events (it's a 2-ring circus with a high wire overhead).
It was a blast.
All I can say is it had the name Carnivale in it and it was in Venusian region on Gaeta. I'll make a point to edit this tonight with the specifics.
The place was dazzling. I guess at some point when I have sold something, I'll get that snack stand so everyone who comes to my treehouse can chugalug soda and carry around a hot dog and fries while they check out videos (I changed the featured video each week).

It's such a beautifully crafted creation with moving clockworks and a great sculpted look that I loved so much, I ended up joining the RP group and now I have endless Industrial Revolution outfits that I look great in! Yay!!! That dress and hair is GORGEOUS! Do you mind saying where you got them? Especially the hair!!!

Anyone know if anyone makes these on SL?

well, two things in this thread fill me with joy- one is that folks have mentioned My Mackenzie's wonderful Greenies Home Lawn (built on a void sim, and right now with only about 2,750 prims on it!) She's an awesome addition to the Greenies team, and I can't wait to see what she does next. second is that Trout mentioned the Museum of Robots, where I currently have an entry (under an alt ) in the "build a robot challenge". Judging for the contest runs until July 12th, and there's a lot of fun and goofy things to find there. my current favorite sim is the Brooklyn is Watching project at Popcha- any artist is invited to leave work on their sim- autoreturn is set for one week- and some works get reviewed on their website (daily) and in their podcast (weekly). and my little blue haired friend always makes me happy. thanks for a bright thread in the middle of what has been a fairly negative week for me. - lt

Some of them are really amazing. I was pleasantly surprised to see a few names I recognized, too. It's a great contest!

Well I wouldn't have said a thing about my entry there, but seeing your touting for votes here, I only think it's fair I can do so too, I didn't use a alt name. But I must say, many of the robots are excellent in their own right, so please go and look and DO vote for your favourites and not just because you know the name of the competitor. I would hate to be a judge and have to decide the final winners. The robot with gas is pretty cool too
