Who makes prefab houses with good texturing? So much of what I have seen is just plain bad. I am interested in something that would look good on a beach, but not a tiki hut. I love natural wood and stone. No glass and steel please. No McMansions. Any ideas?

Have a look at Coco's Cottages in Rosieri (near the border with Hector, east of the road), and see if anything there takes your fancy.

If it weren't for the "no glass and steel" proviso, I'd say Damani Thetan. I love the curves of his buildings.

I have a Dumani and one from Ace, and they're both very good. Relatively low in prims, too. The Ace is very nice....wood textures inside and out (i only modified the floor with some carpet, but kept the walls the way they were) and lots of windows.
The Dumani home is very nice, too, with a nice dome ceiling skylight. |

I'll second the Damani Thetan vote. I have one of his, it's very low prim, wood, and has a built in security system and privacy windows. It also has a teleport system between floors. He includes all his textures with the houses so if you want to build some extra walls/rooms, you can. His range widely in size and building materials as well.

There's a place called "Vision" something LOL I'll double check mine...I loved their houses and just bought mine. I also second Ace's Spaces....they are fantastic and very reasonably priced!

I recently blogged my house shopping trip. It might be worth a read. (The rest of my blog is useless drivel though.

I have a house called "Cozy Beach Cottage". It is all wood with a porch. I'll have to wait until later to see where I bought it, but it served me well and is pretty roomy for a small cottage (easy to move around in too!). I think if you search Cozy Beach Cottage you will be able to find the maker.

From personal experience I would go for either ACe's homes or Coco's cottages.
Outstanding work at both. _____________________

I'll add a plug to where I work... Hosoi Estates makes high quality villa-style houses.
If you go to SLX and type in the search term "Hosoi_Villas" you will see them. or contact me via PM here and I can arrange an in-world tour. _____________________

I agree with Isablan Neva - Barnesworth Anubis' houses are absolutely beautiful. They also sell quality furniture as well!

Excuse the plug - if you want highly detailed custom textures and low prim, you might fancy checking out Tin Teddy island.
I hope that was alright to say |

I love the Floridian series at Home Sweet Homes. I've owned the smallest of these. The textures are outstanding. There are several people at HSH who can provide assistance, and they've always given outstanding service when I needed it.

If you are a fan of modern design (but not just all glass and steel), take a look at Iva Geesink's Irreversible Designs homes. Iva is a perfectionist (like me) and creates all her own textures. She uses a lot of really great looking wood and other natural materials to warm up her very modern designs. I think you'll be impressed by her use of shading too.
I dare you to find a bad seam or misaligned texture in any of her homes. That's why after 3 days of looking around and seeing some frankly horribly textured and pretty expensive homes from well known names I bought Iva's "Meer" house for my beachfront plot. Good luck in your search. _____________________

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I check each of them but ended up getting the perfect house from Ace's Spaces. Exactly what I wanted, super super inexpensive, easy to rez. Perfect.
Thanks again |

1) Barnesworth Anubius homes are very good. More expensive than the average builder, but still top quality builds. The thread below contains some attached pictures I posted last night of two Barnesworth Anubius homes:
/115/56/216328/1.html PS: one of the house was just rented so this post is more directed at go look at the pictures and not worry about the rental ad. Then again someone is always welcome to rent the other house. ![]() 2) I am also a big fan of Nikki Brennan houses. Very nice quality builds and very good prices. |

Just a warning not to waste your time. There are much better places as have been mentioned. Yeah, id buy aces too. _____________________

I bought my home from Blip and I'm glad I did because it was easy to rip apart and make it exactly what I wanted. I learned a lot about building in the process. Otherwise there's been a lot of great choices listed.
