I counted 100 Chippewas in the listing of names but I think many have left now. Do you know any? Don't worry, I am NOT looking for long-lost relatives!

I've actually seen another Paperclip surname - must have escaped *grins*

I was looking for a Russian-sounding name to go with *Czari* when I joined SL. Had noooo idea I would run into Zenovka's on every corner. :( Wish I could change my surname now.

I wish I could change mine. Rare or not, most people don't realise that it alliterates in Polish.

There was the surname Pink, I'd have liked that.

Thanx Cherry! Just learned a new English word - alliterate. You have a really nice name and it sounds better than Cherry Pink IMO.
I don't know why I chose Imako, not too sure what it means, and I've only seen it about twice. There's an Imako in a group I belong to, and one popped in on the forums, once.
I feel so boring... wish I had a great story to tell.

I've only met one other Toshihiko. According to SL name watch, there's 605 of us though...

Met two. One wanted to introduce me to "our mother", the other claims to be my cousin.

I met several other Dadas when I was new to SL, for obvious reasons, but I guess that a lot of Dadas have probably fallen by the wayside since then.

"How many residents do you know, or have even spoken to, that have the same surname as you?"

How could this answer possibly be "none?" At minimum, one always knows oneself. Naturally, one has the same surname one has. Minimum is one.

I've only found one Neumann and a couple of "Newmann's". So I guess i was lucky in picking an unpopular last name I guess hehe..

I have no idea if that's good or not though?

I've run into quite a few other Writers, though not so many lately as when I first started. I hesitate to post that I *know* any of them, but we're pretty thick on the ground.

I guess that's not surprising, considering that (according to SLnamewatch.com) there are 70205 of us! (In fact, according to the same site, there are only three retired surnames with more users: Allen (154317), Oh (96164), and Beck (95952).)

Apparently you can't swing a prim in SL without hitting a Babii...
..but I ran into another Babii when I was freshly rezzed, and we promptly decided we were long-lost sisters. We've shared land and shop space ever since. (she's the bestest)

Also my RL partner got the same last name when she signed up.

But Perre is quite nice? ;)

(Is the other Okiphia still stuck? I still saw her yesterday, kneeling behind the wall, the poor thing...)

yes, like other posters here i have only met one or two Hathaway`s. and clicking on "search" - "people" and using Hathaway as the key, found a hundred.. a tiny number of folks really, if one believes the numbers of real folks logged on, and some of those have Hathaway as a first name, not the second.

Whats in a name though?does it matter what you are called? from a personal point of view i guess that is the decider.. but then why would one choose a name that one doesnt want? and what is the significance of never meeting another or meeting hundreds?, If i had said "yes, ive met every other Hathaway.. its my SL perogative, the only reason i am in SL" what changes? perhaps i would sense that my obsessive behavior needs help... :)

*snicker* I could throw a prim and hit your house I guess....since we're almost neighbours! ;)

I keep thinking of Latin plurals when I read "Babii", though....the curse of the linguist....

Nope...I've never met anyone with the same surname. Though, I have seen someone with the same surname as my RL one.....I'm kinda kicking myself that I didn't choose that one.

While i have never met any to talk to, i have seen many around SL places i visit.
Oddly just last week a friend called me over to the sandbox i normally build in, and on arrival was surprised, out of 9 people in the sand box, four of us were Lane's. :D

I also have 3 alts i use for various things, one for playing games etc and within the 1st week of making him i saw high scores on the freeplay games with the same surname, hehe.
