Dr. Grimes: In the cold room at the University, we had a cadaver, a cadaver from which all limbs had been amputated. Some time early this morning, it opened its eyes and began to move its trunk. It was dead, but it opened its eyes and tried to move!

I didn't think guns had much use in SL, i tried combat areas a little when i was a newbie but wasn't highly impressed.
Post some SLurls and prove me otherwise, i wouldn't mind a little combat.

I'm still trying to get over the shock of Lewis admitting he fires poor little chicks from his gun.

From: Susie Boffin Hi VooDoo! Just a word of warning. You may buy the coolest set of guns in SL and set off on your adventure only to meet much pain and disappointment. Many club owners and land owners will eject and ban you, on sight, with no questions asked if you are wearing weapons. I am one of them. Show up on my land with weapons and you can expect some pretty serious humiliation. Just a word of warning. Plenty of lands allow, and in many cases even encourage, weapons. Any establishment that doesn't mention the banning of weapons in their classified ads can reasonably be expected to tolerate the wearing of weapons, if not their actual use.

Easily avoided by simply Reading the Rules of a club, or land plot before entering, and Complying. I wear a sword, and i always take care to remove it where Owners would prefer no weapons to be worn. ~The sword actually does nothing more than have a cool looking Draw animation, My Real , and most devestating weapon is Utterly Invisible, and i never take that off, but since no Owner is aware of it, i never have any troubles. From: Argent Stonecutter Even if someone is on your property, if you "orbit" them without their consent you're violating the TOS. You can push someone off your land without orbitting them. This would not be a violation of TOS, as it is exactly the same as booting them.

From: Ceera Murakami VooDoo, even on your own property, even if they are griefing the hell out of you, if you shoot them, they can AR YOU. When you shoot back, you are playing their game, and they think that is FUN. If you ignore them, they get no fun from it.
Don't shoot back.
Get a good shield, turn no-push on for your land, and when the come, freeze them, AR them, then ban and eject. The last griefer on my land lasted 5 seconds, max. And I did nothing he could AR me for.
Though there is something to be said for humiliating them first, by dressing the frozen griefer up in frilly pink prim skirts and prim hair and the like, before you kick them out. It's not a breach of TOS if it is a combat friendly area. No one has thought to ask Voodoo what he intends to use them for on his/her land. He/she may be running a combat sim for all we know.

Any establishment that doesn't mention the banning of weapons in their classified ads can reasonably be expected to tolerate the wearing of weapons, if not their actual use. good luck trying to figure out why you got banned from some areas without warning, most places do not have rules posted at all and it vary frustrating and one of the reasons i don't even try to wear guns anymore *sighs* the good ol days of SL are long gone and theres no turning back. From: Angelique LaFollette Easily avoided by simply Reading the Rules of a club, or land plot before entering, and Complying. I wear a sword, and i always take care to remove it where Owners would prefer no weapons to be worn. i would love to agree with you but most people dont even post any rules where they should, the only place they like posting their rules is on a prim with a high quality texture that takes to long to rez and by the time you even read the rules you are already banned because most land owners do even give you a second to remove anything. you know, i think that they do that on purpose, they like to sit there and wait on a unsuspecting person who likes to wear guns and humiliate them and try to prove their point that theres no place for guns in SL in fact to prove my point, just check out the "whats wrong with weapons?" or "Why people buy or use weapons in this game ?" threads its full of people that openly admit that if they see a person wearing a weapon on their land then its a instant ban with no warning at all. i dont want this tread turning into another pro-gun or anti-gun thread i was just voicing my opinion on a couple of thing that were said *leaves and hopes that the original topic continues*

In my land info, I list "no weapons"
However, I understand that a collection of prims attached to your avatar is not a weapon - it's clothing.
Once said collection of prims fires a beam, projectile, &etc. THEN it's orbit city.

Well, at the very least you can claim moral superiority in the matter.

From: Conan Godwin Well, at the very least you can claim moral superiority in the matter. i wasn't trying to claim moral superiority, i was just trying to make a point about why assuming that if a place says nothing about guns then it be a bad idea to just go there with your guns on. i love wearing guns but lots of people are so against them so to make everybody else happy i just only wear my guns sometimes, even then, when i feel like wearing my guns not 10 minutes go by without someone walking up to me and ask why do you feel the need to have your guns on. and what i meant about the good ol days are long gone, was just me pointing out that before the mass media storm of SL being a household name, we could wear our guns without being called griefers but now every thing has changed and everyone who wears a weapon is being called griefers, nevermind the fact that the person has put lots of L$ into their avatar, and just wants to look the way they want.

No, I mean the person who is banned from land that has no rules published can claim moral superiority. You misunderstood.

A young cowboy named Billy Joe Grew restless on the farm A boy filled with wanderlust Who really meant no harm He changed his clothes and shined his boots And combed his dark hair down And his mother cried as he walked out;
Refrain: "Don't take your guns to town, son Leave your guns at home, Bill Don't take your guns to town."
He sang a song as on he rode, His guns hung at his hips He rode into a cattle town, A smile upon his lips He stopped and walked into a bar and laid his money down But his mother's words echoed again;
Refrain: "Don't take your guns to town, son Leave your guns at home, Bill Don't take your guns to town."
He drank his first strong liquor then to calm his shaking hand And tried to tell himself at last he had become a man A dusty cowpoke at his side began to laugh him down And he heard again his mother's words;
Refrain: "Don't take your guns to town, son Leave your guns at home, Bill Don't take your guns to town."
Bill was raged and Billy Joe reached for his gun to draw But the stranger drew his gun and fired before he even saw As Billy Joe fell to the floor the crowd all gathered 'round And wondered at his final words;
Refrain: "Don't take your guns to town, son Leave your guns at home, Bill Don't take your guns to town."

Where can you use these guns? I guess you can wear them and kind of admire them while you walk around but what else are they good for? Not a rhetorical question. I really am curious as I have no clue.
