Hey, all.
I hope this is the right place to post this. I was looking for some comparative information on the various military groups in SL. All I ever seem to see are things promoting a given group, but never anything comparing them, so I ask, what do you know, or what do you think about the different groups?

I've only ran into a couple of 'armies', including the Mudkip Army, in which 2 members were griefing people in Avaria.
Other than those, no real 'military' that I've seen. |

Holy smokes - ninjas masquerading as SL soldiers. Damn sneaky ninjas. Kidding, of course. To the OP, SL armies are going to be difficult to find. For every legitimate RP'er, there's going to be 20 morons. OTOH, I think it would be cool to have a RL veterans group in SL - not to play army, but just to get together and support each other or hang out or whatever. _____________________

A good rule of thumb, any group which wears it's costumes outside of one particular sim or group of sims is probably a griefer group.

I usually avoid the cut and paste links the broken Code thingie nescessitates, but my vanity got the best of me. That scene is a work of airial ballet. The shot where they come in low over the waves is breathtaking, I love doing it in SL. I love the part later on where they are dusting off the troops and the one kid is screaming.."I'm not going! I'm not going!" I always onder which one of our brigade that would be if we went into action....  Thank You Chris. And Damien. _____________________

I wear a "SL Police" group tag to a weekly noobie Question & Answer session that some friends of mine host... Mostly to allow them to support their point that the ONLY real authorities in SL are the Lindens. It usually helps that I also normally look more like jailbait than anyone that could possible polish SL's image. (^_^)
And, sometimes, if people aren't getting the point, I'll toggle my tag to "SL SWAT", "SL FBI", and finally finish off with "Chris Hansen's Alt"... By then, anyone left who would have taken group tags seriously before have pretty much come to realize that a tag can say almost anything and mean just about anything else. (^_^) Role play? Fine... Just... Don't get the tag and expect to "respect your authority". Most of the groups I've seen are open-enrollment anyway, so griefers LOVE to join those groups strictly to mess with people. Think about who you would be lumping yourself in with. (^_^)y _____________________
