I have land spread in I believe four sims right now. I like sim names I can easily spell so I can use the map to hop to them. If it is pleasant sounding that is a bonus.

Does the name of a sim affect your decision regarding which parcel of land to buy? Feel free to give some examples of names you love or hate! In a word, yes. I ran across "Lie" (would like to send some exes there - cheap Catskills joke) and "Slymington" (hmm, actually same thing - and same reason). I won't be buying on those - despite some stunning views! Conversely a really pretty or funny or interesting sim name will tip the balance in that lot's favor... Kinda like real life. I've seen some pretty stinky street names in real life, too. I wish I could think of some offhand. _____________________

The best street name I ever saw was "Starfire".
I would buy a house there over "Babbling Elms" or "Whispering Brook". _____________________

The best street name I ever saw was "Starfire". That IS a really pretty one. I wish more people who get the rare chance to name real life streets/towns would put as much thought into it. Then again some might not like Starfire. I can see a really macho dude thinking he's in a romance novel. But his dates would probably like it. I mostly think RL street/town names should be halfway easy to spell and not off-putting in sound. I just think of practical things like trying to make the pizza guy understand what you are saying. I didn't even know the sim name of the land I was buying when I got it at the time. (^_^)
All I knew was that it was right next door to the girl I was stalking. (^_^)y _____________________

Id hafta go yes, because I prefer they say "Bay City" at the beginning, or perhaps "Shermerville."

I bought main land years ago with my partner on a sim called Dongjak - we didnt actually buy land for the name, we wanted flat 512 first land plot and this one fitted the bill, we didnt really think about the name till like 2 days later when we suddenly realised the sim name was perfect for us! we eventually almost owned the whole sim before we sold and went to an island but man loved the name!!!, most mates would be rolling about laughing when we handed out the LM.

If it did, would I live in a region called "Clay"?

I don't think I'm too affected by sim name - but my home has been in Yosu for over 2 years now and I have no intention of moving. I have owned additional land in other sims from time to time, although I don't have any now - and I never really thought about the sim names. However, I wouldn't really want to live in a sim called something like Dogpoo!

Yes (I live in Bella), and why are all the Zindra names so complicated? Try spelling Pimuenti with one hand... while intoxicated... Consider the audience

Yes. I love the name Mimas. Coz I thought it was in Lord of Rings but it's not. Turns out it's a planet or a Typhoon? Titan.
Mimas the Titan. Then I bought also in Chaska coz it sounds like Kamchaska. Does that make sense? Those are really my reasons. Chaska Kamchaska ![]() _____________________

i feel fortunate after weeks of looking with no success way way back when, my first land (when it was a 512 for $512L) was in the Solbitgil region. It was cool having our last name in it! I remember looking every hour or so on the map for first land plots for sale, then one day there were several. I'd set out to look at several regions, but this was the first one I landed on, and seeing other folks showing up on other plots, I knew with Sol in the name it felt destined.
I still own the plot too, joined by several other parcels now _____________________
