Age Verification Question

Pardon my confusion...
As of three days ago,a club I've been going to for over a year started age verified access.
My first hint something was wrong was when I try to tp there I get a notice that "Cannot transport,no valid parcel found". (typical vague LL wording)

I haven't been age verified..so I go to SL's age verification beta and proceed to verify my main and both of my alts... all with the same info using my last four SS numbers... all three get the green wording "verification successful".

Three days later and I still can't tp to that location...same "no valid parcel found". You'd think they'd give you a message that indicated it was a age verification problem. No valid parcel found would give me the impression that the parcel no longer existed on the grid.

Just to be sure...I had a friend that was at the club send me a tp request..same results.
Since this so far is the only place in my landmarks I can't tp to.. I assume it is a verification problem. And yes,I have checked the "I want to see PG,Mature,Adult". in my preferences.

Anyone else have this problem yet?

Go to the Age Verification web page and see if it says you are already age verified.

I've run into a problem with a couple accounts where it reported age verification was successful, but it was not recorded. If you got the message, and the form was still on the page below it, SL did not record the successful verification.

Age verification has always been problematic, both the process and getting it to work correctly. Why are the club using this system? It's being made pretty redundant with the new adult category in SL.

It is BROKE. I have been age verified since they first started it, and a few of my alts have also. I can sometimes get into flagged parcels and sometimes not. My verified alt can sometimes get to parcels that I cannot and ditto for my unverified alt.

None of it makes sense. I was really hoping they would fix all of that before rolling this Adult stuff out, but apparently not.

Milla...I may be dense..but I can't find that age verification webpage that will show if I've been verified. How do you get to it..or do you have a link you can share?
If it is the regular age verification page..it is the same..with a empty form to fill out.

Yes, it's the regular age verification page. The empty form means even though it said verification was successful, SL didn't remember it.

You'll either have to age verify manually, or wait for someone to fix the web page (good luck with that).

When I go to My Account on the website and then click on Age Verification on the left, this is what I see:

If by "age verified access" you mean they are on an adult rated sim, I am not sure you will be able to access it if you are running the newest viewer and don't go to edit> preferences >general and choose that you you want to see Adult, Mature, & PG content.

This may have nothing to do with the problem in this case, but once you are verified it is something you will want to do if you want to be able to access adult content. If the verification is broken though, it won't matter until you get that fixed.

Anyone know, if you are "verified" or have PIOF and have not checked that you want to access adult content, can you be TP'd to an adult sim with the new viewer?

Sorry if this post only adds to the confusion.

When they first rolled out the new viewer, someone said that they could get to the new Adult content and they are not Age Verified -- only have PIU.

Seriously,I appreciate your prompt and informative replys everyone.

It was my understanding that those to are the same things in the eyes of LL when it comes to accessing Adult content. You need to either have given them payment info at some point OR use the aristotle age verification system. Payment info seems much easier and less buggy to me, but I know its not an option for everyone.

My question was about the check boxes you have to use within the new viewer. If you don't check the box stating you want to see adult content, but you are verified (either with Aristotle or payment info) can you be TP'd to those regions? My guess is no, but I haven't tested it.

Oh btw..yes,dispite varying answers by Lindens..account verification and age verification are two completely different things. Myself and my two alts can tp to Oatmeal 15 with no problem..this just confirms "account verification".
I've checked the "PG,mature,adult" option in prefences and have no problem going to Zindra either..hence the reason I think it's due to age verification not going through..hope they fix it soon.

Just checked -- no you cannot TP to Zindra when you have not set your preferences to include Adult rather than just PG and Mature. Message is:

You are not allowed in that Region due to your maturity Rating preference. Then it tells you, in Preferences, where to change your choice.


ETA: I even downgraded my Preference to PG and now I cannot even TP to a Mature sim - boy that could mess up some folks getting Home.

Landmarks hide the sim and location data and don't work if you leave the 'see adult' box unchecked. I'm not sure about an actual TP request from someone.

Teleport requests to an Adult region fail if you don't have the see adult option selected. I mean, you get the request, but when you accept it, it fails and you get the message about maturity ratings.

I'm wondering if they've not yet turned on the green light for access via PIU/PIOF users. I can get in with aristotle verify, but an alt of mine with PIU and on file could NOT. That alt *could* get in after I ran her thru aristotle, but not before with just payment info.

I've been in Zindra 3 times now and am not Aristotle, as I've said.

I do have payment info on file/in use.

Dana if your alt is only on SLX and not premium etc., then you have to have the latest viewer before the PIU will show up.

Well, that isn't how it is supposed to work. I have an alt with payment info but not Aristotle. I'll see what my results are there. :/

Thanks for posting this. Since the Adult content/Adult region thing it is really easy to get these muddled together, and I wasn't sure from your OP which you were really talking about.

My understanding is that there are two systems. There is the new Adult content thing, based on Adult rated regions and keyword filters in search, and there is ALSO the old, never fully implemented, largely broken parcel control which allows a parcel owner to set their parcel to require age verification. The first allows either Aristotle or Payment Info, the second is entirely Aristotle Age Verification. That means someone can have payment info on file, all the right boxes checked, and have full access to adult regions, but still not be able to enter Age Verification required parcels bc/ they didn't use the Aristotle system - or - be fully verified with Aristotle, be able to access those individually restricted parcels, but if they haven't changed their settings in edit> preferences >general> see Adult content they won't be able to access Adult regions or search results.

That about sums it up. The only place I'm having this problem with is a club that announced a week ago that they would set the parcel to only allow "age verified".
So untill LL gets the age verification page working again (forsees long wait ahead)...that club will have to carry on without me . lol
As more places opt to use this setting ,I'm sure we'll hear of more folks with the same problem I'm having.

Again - if your avatar has payment info via SLX it will not show up as 'payment info on file/in use' until you download/install the latest SL viewer.

If your avatar is premium it will show up as payment info on file as it always has done.

I'm sure you are right, we will hear from more people in your spot. We will also hear from more people who want to access account verified "Adult" content, and don't know they have to enable it in preferences before they can see it. It is going to be difficult to sort out which problem they are having so anyone can help them fix it.

You obviously have a very clear grasp of the two different options, and what each requires, but I'm afraid many residents don't know about either, let alone the differences between the two.

Good luck with LL getting Verification fixed. Does the club owner plan to move to Adult rated land so they can drop the parcel restriction? I don't believe a parcel restriction exempts them from the guidelines for Adult content, if they have any, anyway. It might make it easier for people to visit their club.

Actually the club is on a private island they own. So I guess they are free to do as they want. I'm not sure how the adult thing applies to private islands. But I rather doubt they will move..or for that matter ,be required to move .

The rules are the same for private estates and mainland regarding adult content. Private sims can be rated adult, so they wouldn't have to move to Zindra, but the designation can only be made on a sim wide basis. I have no idea if their content/advertising would be considered "adult", but if it is, I don't think flagging one parcel will protect them from AR's in a mature sim or allow their listings to appear in search (if they have any).

Of course, it's still not clear what adult content actually IS, so....

ok wait so payment info used = age verified? Just checked my age verification and it offers to verify me and I know I have a yearly account with LL + monthly tier. however I can get on Zindra no issue. Just confused and stuff for my alts.

Payment info used = ACCOUNT verified. That is good enough to get you onto Zindra. However, parcel owners and Private Estate owners can flag their land Age Verified only as well, which means you will need to be Aristotled to get in. That has always been an option with IDV.
