Nope, but sometimes things that people don't say bother me.

There's probably a signature in that line somewhere, but it's just too surreal for me.

OK, using Emerald. I agree with Wulfric's points about it, btw.

About the feature to show where people are looking -- or rather, where something thinks they're looking, since it's wrong a lot.

I noticed that while I can see where people without Emerald are looking, I can't see where some of the people with Emerald are looking. You see, I really wanna know whether Jig is staring at my crotch, but I don't see her crosshairs anywhere!

'Ssupwidat?

(OK, I didn't actually see Jig and don't know whether she runs Emerald. But if I do, and she does, well, never mind.)

Thanks!

As I recall, there's one of the settings that lets you hide the fact you're looking at people, but at the cost of your not being able to see where they're looking. You can only see my crosshairs if you'll show my yours, as it were.

I really like Emerald but I have one problem. I can't dj while using it. When I have Emerald open, then open iTunes and NiceCast (Mac streaming software), Emerald freezes up. I don't have that problem with the Cool Viewer or the main or RC viewers.

After you create a prim, you can go into the Building Block Type menu under the Object tab and find some extra selections that are omitted in the standard viewer (So really, Emerald doesn't even create these prims, it can modify existing prims to use additional shapes). It just exposes a more complete set of the flags that were already there.

I went and had a little play with these (gloating happily all the while). Some interesting shapes there..can't wait to see what new nano-prims I can find amongst it. I really love having a full range of choices. Muuahs to emerald :)

The one gotcha with those extra prim parameters is that other viewers can't edit them fully. You can do some things like resize, move, rotate, but changes like hollow or cut tend to snap them into a different prim type that the other viewer can handle.

Oh dear, I just saw where LGG may go ahead and incorporate a patch to implement MISC-510. I suppose that more people will be running Emerald than the LL viewer after that one :p

Muahahaa! Ebol third-party viewer takes over the world!

Why hasn't anyone mentioned how cool it is to have tp2cam right there in the client?

And, does anybody know what the funky params for "Permissions" on the build menu mean?

Nika - I don't see any new perm stuff. Where are you looking?

Ok, I really don't see why this is so funny. If you say something, then I figure that you decided that it was the best thing to say, so you had a reason not to say any of the other things you could have said..

Lil: I never noticed the stuff circled in red below before last night. In any case, can anyone tell me what-all it means? Maybe it was in the 1.23.4 codebase too, and I didn't notice it in the 15 minutes I used that build? (OK, I've got no excuse why I didn't notice it in the month I've been using Emerald).

I may be mistaken, but I suspect it means you've got debug settings ShowPermissions set to true.

That stuff is from Advanced->Debug Permissions, it's a regular SL thing.

Big explanation here:

(bah, that article has been dumbed down, let me find where the details went....)

This one is kind of OK, but there used to be even more details somewhere :/

Also, an upcoming version of Emerald (possibly the next version?) will introduce jiggly boobs. If that doesn't cement Emerald's place (at least with half the population) I don't know what will. ;)

Of course it begs the question, are jiggly boobs against TOS?

That I can answer and has nothing really to do with Emerald:

To get the extra permission info, enable 'Debug Permissions' from the Client/Advanced menu:

B: Base permissions. The object can never be more permissive than this.
O: Owner permissions. The permissions the owner currently has.
G: Group permissions. The permissions group members currently have on the object.
E: Everyone permissions. The permissions everyone else has on the object
N: Next Owner permissions. The permissions the next person to own the object will have.
F: Full or Folded permissions. The permissions of the object as a whole including all permissions of the objects contents. For example, an object with a No Copy content item may itself be copyable, but is not copyable as a whole because of the content item.

V - "Velocity" This is actually for 'can move'.
M - Can Modify
C - Can Copy
T - Can Transfer
