Pocket I think this is a wonderful thought. Thankyou for offering to do this. It is truly in the spirit of Vday I think.

You know...while I am thinking about it, my friend Lori could use a prayer, she has had nothing but grief from lemons who have passed through her life (I was one of them)...she is trying to make lemonade, but it is getting in her eyes, and makes her cry... so Saint Valentine, Cupid, and the God of Love, can you see fit to give her a wonderful man to help heal her wounded heart? Thanks!

didn't mean to demean your actions

and hopefully you just saw the fun in my post. I am not a religious person, in fact an atheist, and it's good to get a feel for how a statement on public forums strike people of all beliefs.
I know that your heart is squarely in the right place with your sentiments and that's the major consideration in all of this. Just know though that any talk of religion has the potential to put anyone else within earshot that doesn't belong to that train of thought in the role of the excluded outsider. It's easy with the Christian majority in this country to forget that there are others not sharing those beliefs. I can tell however that you're not intending harm so in my case it's no big deal. It's not like you're part of the government. |

Thanks once again everyone for taking the time to post.... St. Valentine will have a lot of reading to do on the 14th...lol
And Trout..... I'll slip in a little request regarding the '503' issue, maybe he knows someone who can take care of that... Arturo......of course I saw the fun in your post......believe me, life's much less harsh when you try to see the 'fun' in everything.... Of course I realise that not everyone is of the same religious persuasion....but I kinda figured that 'most' people celebrate St. Valentines Day to some degree..eg.. sending of cards, flowers, chocolates etc regardless of whether they're Catholic or not, and I thought this would make a nice change from those more traditional ways of marking the day.. In my country, as indeed any country, traditions have always been important... I've had such wonderful experiences since joining SL.. it's become my 'second country'....so why not start a few traditions here too. Having said all that though, if George Clooney doesn't arrive at my door by the end of Februrary, I'm not doing this again next year.... ONLY JOKING ![]() |

This a beautiful proposal Pocket and reminds me very much of the film "Pay it Forward",........ a single act of thoughfulness and kindness can change the world, and whilst I may be pagan, I am still open minded enough to know, that with such caring, thoughtful people in our world, there is still much hope for our future and our childrens future.
Wishing you all love, light and laughter for valentines day and every day _____________________
